Mark Ingram is like Emmitt Smith.

So Emmit Smith is mediocre? The dude averaged 4.2 ypc over 13 NFL seasons and was rarely ever hurt. Who the frick wouldn't want that guy on their team?

Stats from 2 years ago to make an argument. Nice. Your Ingram hate is among the most irrational I've seen here, and that's saying something.

Broken Tackle Pct Leaders, 2015, Min. 150 Touches
Duke Johnson, Browns 28%
Charles Sims, Buccaneers 23%
Doug Martin, Buccaneers 20%
Jonathan Stewart, Panthers 19%
Antonio Andrews, Titans 19%

Is that better?

That's such an arbitrary stat to make an argument off of. I'm sure your realize how ridiculous you're looking in these threads. I think you enjoy the attention.

Tell me more about Antonio Andrews, Charles Sims, and Duke Johnson
What a great analysis for letting us know who the real RBs are

Yes.

Youre using the stat that Im arguing is useless to argue against me.

Agree. This is important. I think its one of the reasons SP got rid of Ivory despite being as good as he was.

Its not that I wouldnt want him. Hes just overrated. If I could get him at a good price Id take him on durability and ball security alone. But dont think there werent many backs that were better RUNNERS at that time who didnt get the same adulation as Smith because they were on shitty teams with bad OLs or in pass first offenses.

Look how good of a runner Marshall Faulk was and never got a lot of credit as a runner because of the type of offense he was in.

Any single stat is a dumb thing to make an argument about.

Thats what makes these ingram threads so face palmy, bc there is no smoking gun bc hes above avg, but people are going at it saying hes either the greatest or cut worthy. Never gonna get anywhere, hes neither

Like I said, other than "juke" misses what other stat would you use to evaluate a RB? The only job of a RB is to find the hole and break tackles. Pass catching and pass protection are also important traits but they take a back seat to the former.

What is your point?

What stats would you use to evaluate RBs?

I would use yards per attempt like a normal person. But I'm not trying to irrationally hate on a running back on my team, so what do I know?

I actually agree. Thats why the first thing I did was post highlight films. Which of course suffer from selective bias but Ive seen every one of Ingrams pro runs now since hes entered the league and Im telling yall hes a mediocre back. Never mind the fact that people are reacting like I said hes the worse back in NFL history and my 2 year old is better.

Says more about the emotional connection of the people responding to me than me.

Right. That was my point from the start. Ive always stated that hes MEDIOCRE. Apparently, some posters arent sure of the definition of this word. Maybe because there are more than four letters in it.
