Maybe there's a good answer for this question, but why would Teddy's agent agree to sign an extension so that his player could be traded in the offseason to a team not of his choosing? Why wouldn't he just say thanks New Orleans, we're going to go out and get a deal with a team WE choose?

Look, im fine taking Burrow if the situation comes up and it probably wont. But we are not making moves for Burrow because he may end up with a rival.
We are not trading Bridgewater and Bridgewater is not playing over Brees when he is healthy. The extremes this place takes is crazy.

So, your solution would be for the Saints to pay the signing bonus that will be necessary to resign TB to trade him to a team that will be picking in the late teens; then trade to get inside the top 5 that will still take all of this year's picks & next year's to roll with a rookie QB? This will also crush the Saints salary cap because they will not have those draft picks and will then need to bring in multiple veterans to fill voids.
