Why should he be?

but to me that just shows how inconsistent the NFL is

Not sure if you missed this, but football is a contact sport. Injuries happen, a lot.

If that were a receiver getting hit like that, under the rule book, would that be a penalty?

If he was coming over the middle in the process of making the catch, maybe. But if you run that same play out the same way only replacing Kamara with Thomas, then no.

I was just shocked that he didn't t get flagged for helmet to helmet even after all the reviews to see if Kamara was alright!!

I get that it's not a penalty under the rules
Glad we cleared that up.

If that were Ted Ginn, no. He would not have been a defenseless player and Debo would not have been flagged.

ETA: It's clear you want to outlaw helmet to helmet contact, how would you word the rule?

Under these rules he isn't. But how is that consistent when you can just take a player out after he catches the ball. Cannot have it one way and not the other. You either penalize players for helmet hits in all scenarios or vice versa. It's part of the reason I hate running QBs with a passion. Scam could act like a RB, get hit by Debo like this, and get a penalty out of it.

What are the injury percentages with helmet to helmet hits vs. leading with the shoulder?

Fair enough. But I still think these rules are inconsistent af. If that were Scammy Scam it would have been a penalty.

Hold up, you think Cam gets preferential treatment from the refs?

Consistent with what? It's part of the game.

You actually can.

At some point you will realize that the rule is with regard to the CROWN of the helmet, right? Not just any part of the helmet?

No idea, and it's not particularly relevant.

You've also proven to be a dumbass, so I think you're never going to be satisfied.

Debo murdered Cam last year and drew no flag. Swing and a miss.

Deon Jones should be suspended for one game. I have already petitioned the NFL to investigate the play. They are reviewing the hit this afternoon.

I try not to use it unless it's absolutely necessary.

what he did was pure busch league.

No it wasn't. It may have been against the rules and was worthy of a flag (I don't know the latest rules about hitting a runner in the helmet outside of the box), but I do not believe there was any intent to injure. He was looking to make a hard hit on our guy and dropped his head, AK lowered his head resulting in the ear hole shot. I am pretty certain it is a play worthy of a penalty and fine per the rules; but I do not view that as a dirty play.

Is this in reference to only the RBs, or are you referring to all helmet hits?

the refs didn't see the reviews during the game, nd they cannot review a play to see if a penalty should be thrown. With all of the blockers, depending on the position of the official they may not have been able to see the play to warrant throwing a flag.

I'm sorry but if think THAT officiating crew was going to flag an Atlanta player on that play we did not watch the same game. Perhaps we should be thankful Kamara didn't penalized for the hit.

It's entertaining on a cold and wet morning

It's very entertaining. So many sandy vaginas crying about refs and Debo hitting a guy too hard. Somebody starts a thread bashing a guy from LSU you can expect some people to respond to the crying bitch fest. Many people root for both teams and feel more loyalty to LSU than the saints. People shouldn't start threads like this if they can't take a different opinion
