Ceiling for this defense

For all the negative about DA, he always fields a competent defense. And the panthers are clearly a joke of a professional football team, but realistically what’s the ceiling for this unit?
Chase Young looks like a true difference maker. Willie Gay looks like a good pickup. Alontae Taylor may have taken that next step. Big if, but if the key pieces stay healthy- top 5, top 3?

hope we get decent news on Gay's injury. Latt too. Other than that, things are bright on the defensive side of the ball. Payton Turner turns out to be a beast on tackling punt returners.

You’re about to find out the next two weeks. #1 and #7 scoring offenses from 2023, both hung 30+ in W1.
Rams and Lions were top 10 scoring offenses last year that hung 30+ on us. Playoff teams amidst a shite schedule
Then you get KC with top 10 units on both sides.
We will find out fairly quickly where this team stands.

If healthy, top 5. I do feel we now have good depth on Dline and also at CB. I feel we have good LBs and S but may not have good depth there. Great talent on all 3 levels and DA does a good job of having them prepared.

An improved offense will help the defense as well. Last year it felt like our defense was on the field more often than not.
