re: Carmichael is headed to Denver

Has there ever been a time when an OC has been with a team for 16 years, helped oversee an offense that was tops in the league and won a Super Bowl... and yet never was seriously considered for a head coaching opportunity?

Only one I can think of recently is Bieniemy and his stint in Washington really didn't help his cause, but at least he tried to separate his name from his head coach.
