i agree this wasnt brees' best game, but his receivers share most of the blame. lazy route running and poor ball security. He lost some confidence in his receivers and I think it showed after that first huge fumble

Just because he made a couple mistakes yesterday, doesn't mean he had a bad game. Yesterday was 100% absolutely not a bad game. Brees did just fine.

This team was built to rely much more on the running game to protect Brees from having to win games with his arm. Unfortunately, with Ingram out, that’s not possible for now. Thank God Brees is such an excellent QB that even with the limitations he has from age, he can still win one with his arm when needed. If the outcomes of these first two games were determined strictly on the way Brees has played, the Saints would be 2-0.

Brees "bad" games always coincide with pressure up the middle. Browns DT Larry Ogunjobi ate Max Unger's lunch all day yesterday

Brees had a few "misses" that were certainly uncharacteristic but to say it was a bad game is a bit of a stretch. I think he was leery of Williams and the aggressive pursuit and tended to rush a bit on some throws, specifically the overthrow to Watson.
As for the Ginn underthrow, it was a hair late and didn;t have enough mustard. It happens.
I think he's fine and when Ingram is back, we'll see an offense far less dependent on Kamara and Thomas.

I said he was
OFF
Yesterday and people wouldn’t hear it. I’m the biggest Brees fan there is (no homo), but I realize that he makes mistakes from time to time. Seemed like he had 3-4 of them yesterday ALL involving potential TDS. Maybe that’s why his being off struck me more than his 80% completion rate.

I disagree. The score is what counts. He left points on the board with two poor throws. Both misses are hard to fathom. He can throw for 400 yards but if he is not scoring points and converting third downs, is he doing a good job?

I just thought his accuracy was off. I'm use to some dropped passes and some overthrows in certain situations, but I don't often see Brees miss wide open receivers and throwing late or behind timing routes.
