nevermind
why would NBC not want out of a Bears game... other than Chicago being a big market?

Another benefit of 49ers loss... We could lose to the Colts or Titans and still get the #1 seed
Saints go 2-1 with the loss to an AFC team
SF loses to Rams, beats Seattle
Seattle beats Arizona, loses to 49ers
Packers lose to Vikings
This would erase GB's tiebreaker over us (conference record)
The next tiebreaker would be strength of victory and that depends on the rest of the games in the league. Depending on how they go we could get the #1 seed still. But if you use the Playoff Machine and plug in the above results and then have each favorite win each of the other games, the Saints would get the tiebreaker. Far-fetched, I know. But that Niners loss opened it up
Interesting enough if Buffalo beats Pitt tonight we own the SoV TB over Seattle, if Pitt wins than we don't. So if you need a reason to root for either team tonight, there it is. Go Bills

The Rams are basically out of it as well.
They have to win @49ers & beat the Cards at home. They also have to have the Vikings lose to the Packers & Bears at home.
It's possible, but they're probably screwed after losing to the Cowboys today.
The 4 locks are the Saints, Seahawks, 49ers, & Packers. The Vikings are almost a lock. The #4 seed will be either the Cowboys or Eagles.

If the Saints win out they are no worse than #2 with a bye, since SF and Seattle meet again. One of them will finish with at least 4 losses.

quote:Wrong. If the 49er’s win that game and also beat the Rams, they hold the tie breaker over the Saints. Seattle would be the wildcard which would make their 4th lose irrelevant.
