Maybe because the National Anthem and the Flag SUPPOSED to represent equal rights to ALL citizens of the United States. But we all know it doesn't. So, what better stage to bring attention to what you believe is social and racial injustice going on in America even today. People are still fighting for the same rights as Martin Luther King marched for and died for and we still hasn't seen much changed.
