AP also has fumbled the ball more times in one game than Thomas has all year.

Really, we can't hate Flowbie for thinking the Vikings are a better team. I don't agree with him, but it's not out of the realm of possibility -- both teams are exceptional. Records aside - they match-up best to us in every aspect of the game.

After taking a closer look at Flowbie's previous thread comparing both teams in each category, the more I buy into his train of thought. Let's keep in mind this is Favre's first year with the Vikings, and they've done quite well so far, to say the least. If they continue to pick up steam and, let's say, run the table and beat the remaining quality teams down the stretch, then I think we're going to have a real monster on our hands come playoff time.

Let me explain myself.

I'm not only worried because the Vikings are obviously the second-best team in the NFC, but because we haven't had the roughest schedule this year. I know that the Patriots are a good team, but that is ALL they are this year. They aren't the same cohesive unit of 2007 in the slightest. Sure, they have some of the same components, but as we all know -- a team is more than parts. Look at the Saints, for example. Yeah, we have made some good changes from the last few seasons, but have we made any groundbreaking moves? Not really. What has changed is the team's attitude as a whole. The chemistry of this Saints team in particular is evident in every game played so far. Even when the team is down, you have that feeling they are going to come back. Why? Because you can sense that the team believes in one another. Brees' leadership has grown exponentially over these past few seasons and has been a pleasure to witness.

But Favre has been to the playoffs on numerous accounts, and won. That is what worries me. If his team continues to win, against greater competition, they will likely have the upper hand if we meet in the playoffs. The reason being - not only will their team be more "battle-tested", if you will -- they will have an NFL Legend, who is having an Pro-bowl caliber year at the helm.

Need I mention our weak run-defense as of late? Don't know if if you've met this guy before?

great post, i didn't think there was anyone here capable of reason.

by the way, the saints should be thanking the vikings for not having smith and grant get suspended. we all know they were roiding up. the williams wall was just trying to lose weight so they didn't have to pay a fine. face it you dodged a huge bullet there.

the vikings can do no wrong in this fool's eyes

When Favre has his meltdown he is gonna say "I would rather have a QB who throws a bunch of interceptions because it gives the defense a chance to step up"

amazing

Why? Because he can throw the ball far, JUST LIKE HE'S DONE HIS WHOLE CAREER, mind you?

I guess test every NFL quarterback then, by that logic? They all throw the ball pretty far. No way they can do that with natural arm strength.
