of our sick sports-obsessed culture.

When I go to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned, or take my dog to the vet, or go out to eat in a restaurant, go see a movie, concert or play, the National Anthem isn't played.

We act as if a damn football game is a sacred, religious event. What the hell difference does it make whether some jocks stand, sit, kneel, or whistle zippy de do dah outta their assholes? What skin is it off your nose?

And I say the same thing when John Rocker made politically incorrect political statements, or Reggie White said homosexuality was a sin. Freedom of speech, and, who gives a shite?

I don't know when it began, but it is not limited to football and it is not limited to the NFL.

It is played prior to all sporting events. National Anthems of countries are played prior to International Matches such as Hockey or FIFA Soccer matches. They are played at the Olympics during the awarding of medals.

So it is not limited to America.

I’m sorry, you must be from another country. In the United States we stand for our flag.

Some of your black paid gladiators don't. I choose to stand. Others don't. It's a free country.

America is the only country that plays it before EVERY sporting event. The rest only do it in a sporting event where they are playing FOR their country against another country. They do not play it before a normal sporting event involving teams from their country. It is not played before Premier League games, La Liga games, etc. Only the US does that. It makes sense for it to be played before an international game or the Olympics because those events are about country. The Lions and the Saints are not repressing America. The NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL players do not play for America, they do not have to love America more than anything like some people do, they do not even have to be American and a sizable majority are not. The US is just the country they happen to live in and they do not have to have blind patriotic love for America if they do not want to. You also do not have to love where you live whether it is country or city or state or whatever. If God forbid I were forced to move to Tuscaloosa I wouldn't all of a sudden be yelling Roll Tide and signing my heart out to Rammer Jammer just cause I live there. If the players have issue with something in this country and don't want to stand for the anthem then that is their right. Why it bothers people so much I will never understand. Our players have not sat or knelt DURING the anthem in weeks so I have no fricking clue why this is continually talked about on SAINTS TALK.

The military is paying the NFL a shite load of money to play the national anthem, display American flags the size of football fields, have military personnel on the sidelines, have military fly-overs, etc, all as a recruitment tool and psyops to brain wash Americans to buy into the military industrial complex’s lust for war.

And like any good whore, the NFL spreads its legs and says, “pay up!”

But as long as the Saints are winning, I don’t give a shite.

Christ why do so many go down this road? They are on the job. They are on the clock. Actions have f@cking consequences on the job. You can't protest on the bosses dime and have zero damn consequences. Bunch of hard headed idiots I swear don't get this.

No, you really miss the point. People (some people obviously) do not get worked up about a President of the U.S. talking about grabbing private parts, bragging about barging into beauty contestant changing rooms, mocking a POW, or any of the crap he spews, yet, we'll be damned if an athlete dares to quietly kneel during the National Anthem? Aren't our priorities a little skewed? That was my point.

As I said, John Rocker was an Atlanta Braves' pitcher who said some politically incorrect racial things a while back, and he was skewered ... "suspend him! Kick him out the game!" Why? He threw a baseball for a living, and routinely scratched himself and spit out tobacco chaw. Why does society hang on athletes' every word and action? Same with Reggie White; he played for the Packers, he was an ordained minister, and he stated politically incorrect views about homosexuality. Again, so what?

I just don't understand why the whole country is on this tense precipice and on the edge of its seat to see if a few jocks sit or stand or kneel or stand on their head before the game. Really bizarre, in my view.

I think Mr. Trump is quite clever and did what he set out to accomplish: deflect attention from his little Russian problem.

How much are you going to melt in the very, very likely event that Mueller tells the world he doesn't have shite on Trump that can get him impeached and he's not a russian agent?

McCain on the other hand could get in trouble for his role with that stupid dossier.

Actually only 10% of people battling a glioblastoma tumor live more than a year after diagnosis.

Ted kennedy had the same diagnosis and he died in less than several months.

It's a goddamn monster and McCain is a dead man walking,

There is your problem.
It today's America there are few things that are "our priority."
Few really give a sh!t about this. Take away non football fans. How many does that leave.
Then take away the football fans that don't care.
Doesn't leave that many.
The intraweb makes us all seem more in number than we really are.

Whew! That's a relief! That still leaves the problem of there being enough dullards to actually pull the lever for that fricking moron Trump.
