It was probably a mistake to mention Williams and turnovers together, but I still think he was a better D coord than Rob will ever be.
I won't disagree with that at all, nor am I saying RR is a good coordinator

That's because we played the 2-14 Panthers twice, the NFC West when it was the worst division in NFL history, and the AFC North which was known for defense more than offensive explosiveness
The highest ranked offense we played against that year was the 14th ranked Steelers (or 7th ranked Dallas without Tony Romo on Thanksgiving)
The 2010 defense was overrated all year and got exposed by Seattle
Call them overrated all you want. That defense going against the offenses we are facing today would still be top 10 if they play the way they did during the regular season. The Seattle game obviously was the biggest playoff frickup in years, but give credit to Seattle since they played it out perfectly. Lynch is called beastmode for a reason.
Also, 2010 was considerably a down year offensively for the whole NFL. Brandon Lloyd was the receiving yards leader that year. Brandon fricking Lloyd.

We were missing several starters in that game
Sound familiar?

Don't remember that tbh. Seems like ages ago, but I'll take your word on it. Do you remember who we were missing? The main thing I remember about 2010 was how much of a mess our RB corps was. We shuffled in and out so many backs between Betts, Julius Jones, Ivory, Pierre, Reggie, etc.

I know we lost malcolm jenkins and I want to say Fujita in the Tampa game. Think we were down 3-4 guys total on D

Yep, reggie had a huge drop for a td early in the game then got hurt. Jones played well but fumbled.
I do remember that a lateral that would have been 7 for us was incorrectly called a forward pass. Would have won us the game

Oh frick totally forgot about that. Shite, between 2010 and 2011 I'm not sure which game had a more aggravating finish.

2011 for me. 2010 never felt like a SB team with Drew's injury
2011 was our best team IMO. 5 turnovers and we still should have won a road playoff game

Yeah I think I feel the same way. What a letdown considering how well of a game we played against Detroit. That offense was unstoppable.

You would for millions of dollars

Firing RR at this point would be senseless, what position group coach has his players playing well enough where you would want to entrust the entire defense under him?? NONE imo are coaching worth a damn, I say lets just ride it out and clean house at seasons end. ACs included. The OLine coach can go as well.

Allen has been dealt a pretty shitty hand imo...I say give him more time.
This ain't his first run here.

Of that $29 million, the top cap hits are by Byrd ($5.5m?), Lewis ~4m (been injured), Hawthorne (sucks), and Browner
Browner should pay them to let him play

good discussion
I just got to 'It's the end of the RR era' mentality. When specifically is the discussion.
Related tho- Ima guessing there would be a stronger unanimity to Greg McMahon anytime. Yesterday or sooner!
I gave Payton props for firing Gibbs who had been a longtime personal associate. McMahon goes back to their college days. Sticking with him from personal relation has hurt the team. The coverage and return schemes have looked "holey" for years.

An unfortunate situation that is our defense falls on the shoulders of the GM..we have not done enough to overhaul an awful defense for a very, very long time

You listed different position coaches from 12-13 at 3 spots. Doesn't help your argument.

The players don't fit the aggressive scheme . Every where Rob has coach the announcers say his scheames are too complex and only work with alot of talented veterans. He has never had a top 5 defense except once and thats because he was at that team for five years. He isnt good .We need a no scheame type of coach. Let's the players play to strengths.Pats defense always decent because they don't run alot of scheams. They use mismatches and matchup plays

What do you mean by aggressive scheme? Ryan does not like to blitz, and we have all man to man corners
If you can't generate front 4 pressure, you're going to have to blitz to try and generate some

maybe we could broker some kind of deal, and replace peyton with goodoleless and then the perfect storm would begin. we might not win a game in 10 years
