Loomis is to the cap what Bobby Jindal was to the State budget.

This is right. When the band was together. That team and staff is long gone and so should that philosophy.

This team has not had success in a bad division for 3 years now.

Most teams that do this have Joe Burrow or Patrick Mahomes as QB.

Exactly.

Great when you have an elite to HOF level QB and great HC and you're just trying to keep that window open.

Not Great when you have Dennis Allen and Derek Carr.

LOL, changing your tune now arent you? Def not what you said before. You have been whining about our dead cap all season.

And we're far from 2025, and you have no clue what the dead cap will be.

Saints have done this for a while, not just in the past few years. Loomis been doing this - nothing new.

Yes. You only want to be in the top 1/3 in dead cap if you are (1) rebuilding (had to cut lots of veteran salary); (2) forced to cut a QB; or (3) in a title window.

The ONLY one of those 3 paths that could/should last for more than one season is #3.

Do you think we have a title-contending team/roster/coaching staff?

Loomis has been doing this using Latt and Ram as ATMs, with the expectation we could go to that well until their mid-30s. The one thing that can completely screw up this plan is if we had to deal with one earlier than expected. We may be having to deal with both of them this offseason.

Loomis already restructured Lattimore to trade him during the 2024 season (pushing something like $20M in dead cap onto 2025 with that deal alone), and Ram may have to retire.

Rigghhttt, because having a good dead cap ranking is NOW bad. When before you were thinking it was high and complaining that a high dead cap is bad.

And you are now changing your tune, complaing that our deadcap will be high in 2025 and therefore bad.

Which is it that you want pussy? Low dead cap or high?

We were 12th in dead cap ranking in 2023 which what you want. Not having a lot of dead cap is good.

Deflect some more - I beleive youve now come full circle.

LOL. You have no clue what will happen in the future with either player. Lattimore’s restructure gives the teams options to move him and saves space. Quit pretending.

See article on Latt’s restructure and how it helps the Saints.

LINK

quote:

. Earlier this month, the Saints and Lattimore agreed on a restructure that converted nearly $13.8 million of the cornerback’s 2024 salary into an option bonus — saving $11 million in cap space. The timing and details of Lattimore’s reworked deal were unusual. The Saints, for context, didn’t restructure Lattimore’s contract in 2023 until last March, so this deal took place much earlier. And by converting his salary into an option bonus rather than a standard signing bonus, the Saints wouldn’t be on the hook for that money if New Orleans decides to trade Lattimore before the option kicks in one week before the regular season starts.

You have NO clue what will happen with RR. Or the 2025 dead cap.

Youre just full of shite pussy, and its easy to call out your bullshite. Now shut the frick up.

Literally means nothing right now.

We were ranked 12th for 2023 in deadcap.

Where we end up in 2024 remains to be seen. Which is what this article is showing. Pussy.

You thought we were last in dead cap for 2023.

12th is a far cry from the top.

Saints restructure are nothing new, def not limited to recent. Where the frick you been?

LINK

2015 article - Saints were no 1 in the league in deadcap for “can kicking.” And the restrutures for the future.

LINK /

2014 article - Saints in “cap hell” discusses restructures etc. from previous years and future potential ones.

quote:

Those moves and some restructuring got the Saints far enough under the cap to franchise Graham as a tight end (in advance of his grievance to be treated as a wide receiver), sign their draft picks, and field an active roster. New Orleans entered free agency with about $2.5 million in cap space, which is why nobody expected it to target much of anything in free agency, let alone Byrd. It was a surprise when Byrd visited New Orleans and even more of a surprise when he stayed, signing a deal that guaranteed the star safety $26.3 million. How do you sign a player everybody wants without any cap space? You get creative.

In short, Saints been doing this and we’ve been a top ten program in the NFL for some time now.

Learn sports pussies.

Yeah. You can play through an ankle injury dumbass. High ankle sprains are known to limit athletes for months especially. For all you know he turned it and played through it all season. Im not sure. All pro teams try to avoid disclosing minor injuries, if possible.

A bad ankle limits your ability, and is sore as frick for months while youre healing and playing through it. You def cant use it everyday, but can workout and play through the pain if you want.

Goddamn man, just say you didnt play any meaningful sports and shut the frick up wow.

I would call you a pussy, but not knowing what an ankle sprain is like doesnt call for it.

I’ll go with ignorant dumbass on this one - go play some sports, and you’ll learn what sports injuries are like. I turned my ankle last year, wore a boot during the week but still played basketball and worked out while recovering. Its called an active recovery. Pro players play through injuries commonly. Learn sports please. Pussy (frick it you are one).

I love the Saints and have enjoyed watching us go from bottom of the league to top ten. 7th most wins since 2000 and won a Super Bowl.
