Am I the only one that really dodoesn't care about this?

I hope they lose a draft pick, but other than that, I really dont think its a big deal.

Now if the NFL were to do something about Seattle doing it, thats a different story.

I'd rather the Patriots get penalized than the falcons. Although both should be based on past events.

Maybe they can take their 2nd round pick in 2015, take their 2nd round pick in 2016 but say there's the possibility that they get it back if they cooperate, and then one year later without any explanation tell them they're not getting it back.

But only 1 program has come clean. Discuss...

Seriously man? Why do you keep comparing this to the stupid Bountygate shite? Everyone knows it was not anything like they made it out to be. We didn't have an actual bounty system in place.

Falcons last two seasons..

10-22 Overall Record
6-10 at home

They might need more than just some crowd noise. At least when the Patriots cheat, they win Super Bowls.

Some snippets from link:
quote:

The Saints issued a statement Wednesday taking "full responsibility" for the infractions.

quote:

"It has always been the goal of the New Orleans Saints to create a model franchise and to impact our league in a positive manner," the statement read. "There is no place for bounties in our league and we reiterate our pledge that this will never happen again."

quote:

Payton and Loomis took "full responsibility" for the violations in a joint statement issued days after the findings, and later met with Goodell in New York to discuss the issue.

quote:

"I'd like to again apologize wholeheartedly to the NFL, (Rams) Coach (Jeff) Fisher, the entire Rams organization and all football fans for my actions," Williams said Wednesday. "I will do everything possible to re-earn the respect of my colleagues, the NFL and its players in hopes of returning to coaching in the future."

So... yea.

You my friend are a moron, of course they said that, they had no choice. We never broke any rules on the field or had any dirty hits that entire year. Sorry your shity arse team can try to cheat to win and that that couldn't even help you. But don't come over here to a Saints page trying to compare something that is widely known to have been way over exaggerated by the commish with his made up notes and the media running there mouth for ratings to your team out and out cheating. Why don't you do a little research on what actually happened with the bounty gate thing before you come in here with your gay Falcon opinions because you are pissed that your team is fricking useless.

Even Troy Aikman knows you're a moron.....

“Sean Payton did not cheat,” Aikman said of the Saints coach who was suspended a full year for Bountygate.

“There was nothing that Sean Payton and the Saints did that was illegal. And they did not give themselves a competitive edge. I maintain, regardless of whatever was said in the locker room, and in that locker room, is not anything different than what’s been said in any other locker room around the league. There’s no proof on the field of what took place that guys were targeting players. You can always pull out a play here and there. They were one of the least penalized teams for unsportsmanlike conduct. So there was no evidence that anything translated to the field that they were trying to hurt players. And they did not give themselves a competitive advantage.

Sigh. You're arguing 2 different points.

A) Did you cheat by the letter of the law? Yes. Same way the Falcons cheated by the letter of the law.

B) Did it matter? (The point you're arguing). My answer would be no. You cite stats that show they were the least penalized teams for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Same way I cite the obvious that ATL sucked balls at home the last 2 years and went 6-10.

Moral of the story is that it was still cheating by the definition of a rule book. Now whether or not it translated to anything is a different argument. It looks like the Saints and Falcons still cheated though. Nothing changes that point.

This is a classic case of say something over and over again until you make it true to yourself...

You missed the point. Point is you had a bounty system OFF the field. Whether or not your team sucked at big hits and actually injuring people... well, that's between you and God.

I only initially linked an article and posted what YOUR teams GM, HC and old D-coordinator said. I seem to have struck a nerve though.

and with that, I bid you adieu.

I think what you two are arguing is "competitive advantage". While illegal, the pay-for-performance program did not create a competitive advantage. It was merely a motivational tool. On the flip side, the Falcons (and Pats, twice) did something illegal to try and gain a competitive advantage, even though it didn't gain them one, because they suck at everything.

If they didn't do what the league told them to do they could have suspended them as long as they wanted to. Their hands were completely tied. If you were not so busy pretending like you know what you are talking about then you would know simple facts like this about the situation.

You have now earned your name "Double Douche" back....and just when I was starting to like you.
