I've heard that a lot of people around the program, including coaches and teammates, said he has terrible work ethic and didn't care much about the team. Obviously scouts will look at that kind of stuff, if they think they can motivate the kid then he would be insanely good, I just am afraid of that after our terrible history with lazy DL

So if ur saying he s too light to be an end how in the hell would he not be too light to be a d tackle.
Makes zero sense

He's not too light, but he's more rush end than big end is my point.

Jordan is talented enough and big enough to easily play either spot. Not sure this kid could.

Seeing as the saints gave up the fewest yards rushing between the tackles last season I don't understand the point of your question...

Reddick is a guy who could play WLB in a base D and then lineup on the edge in passing situations kicking someone inside. IMO he helps us in two different spots and would be a great pick between 10-20.

You can draft another true end a bit later in this deep draft - Willis? Lawson? - then on passing downs put ellerbee in at Will, slide reddick to rush the passer and push Jordan inside to rush the passer. I love Reddick on this defense.

We have multiple needs. I love the idea of getting players that can do multiple things. If Peppers is there at 42? play strong safety in the base? WLB in nickel. Cover the slot? effective blitzer? It's all about the coaching staff finding the right places to play these guys.

I agree with this.

Even a guy like DeMarcus Walker will probably be around in the 3rd round - 6'4", 280, good college production - that can kick inside on 3rd down as well.

People also run to the outside, not just between the tackles. If I remember correctly with this brain I got, they had fun doing so

Yep. They ran right at Kruger & gashed him constantly. Fairley, Davison, & Rankins should be plenty good enough up the middle(they got it done last year). That's pretty much Davison's only job & he's damn good at it.

Cam Jordan is one of the best run stopping DE's in the league. Just need that other DE to stop the run...it would be nice if he's at least an average pass rusher as well. Should be able to find a guy by #42 at the very latest.

And that's the very reason for this thread. We've screamed for years for a pass rusher, but that dude needs to be another Cam. Like I said earlier, who cares about a pass rusher if you're in 2nd and 3 all game

That's why I like Barnett. I assume he'll stop the run, & we should be able to get about 5 sacks at least during his rookie year.

If we can get like 8-10 out of him by his 3rd year, then it's a damn good pick.

If you don't think he can stop the run, then I could see why someone doesn't want to draft him at #11 though. Personally, I think he can.

I really don't know who can and who can't. I've read different things about him and others. So I ask the people who do watch the combine and what not.

De ends dont all need to weight 280 plus pounds.

Thomas at 273 is fine.

Again I didn't say his weight was an issue. I made a point that comparing him to Cam when he isn't like Cam is crazy.
