No one has any idea whether that's true. We won't find that out for two to three years at least. How about we see these guys play a game or two before deciding whether any of their college credentials mean a thing?

as it stands.... meaning, as of right now.... as in, on paper.... like, before anyone plays a game.... also known as "potential"....

or maybe you just didn't catch it the first time i posted it....

i think everyone here is aware that it takes a few years to really judge a draft... but i'm basing my opinion off of what i've seen of the players we've taken, before they play in the NFL.... and looking at past drafts, this one stacks up much better, and gets extra points for filling a majority of our current and future needs.....

does that clear it up for you?

I like our draft but I'm not going to call ppl morons because we don't know how these picks will pan out so how could you possibly make that outrageous claim?[

After last year's hype train, I'm only getting jacked if we beat Arizona week 1.

I'll make two posts, one with what I said after last year's draft and how it looks now and another about this year's draft.

Cooks: immediate "starter" at WR (in quotes because we rotate receivers a lot); should get a ton of snaps. Now: projection seems dead on.

SJB: potential starting CB with great size if he develops in a year year two. Might work in the nickel a bit. Now: projection is still unfolding. Coming along slower than originally thought as he barely received any snaps.

Fortt: promising potential as a Lofton or Hawthorne replacement. Looks to be more athletic than both. Start off on special teams and potential backup with Humber. Now: projection physically was on track as he did look promising but laziness did him in. Definite waste of what could have been a good thing.

Sunseri: likely to be one of our best special teams players for a long and an eventual backup to Vaccaro. We likely not be a starter with Vaccaro and Byrd on the team. Now: projection was spot on except he showed more potential as a backup sooner than expected. Could even be a good spot starter.

Powell: special teamer who could be in rotation at LB, especially mixing in with Haralson. Looks promising athletically. Now: took a little longer than expected to work into the rotation but is a core special team player. Could possibly see more snaps this year.

Rooks: backup tackle likely on the right side. Harris sadly has to be our backup LT. No special teams value so he has to win the backup job. Now: didn't win the backup job so he is gone.

All in all it went almost how I expected. SJB and Powell are taking a little longer than expected to develop(though Powell seems further along). Sunseri came on sooner than expected. Fortt was spot on physically but not mentally. Rooks wasn't a surprise that he is gone.

Peat: projected as the most nfl ready LT in the draft and a guy the saints had a very high grade on. I'm expecting him to be a year one or year two starter (no later than that). If he wins a starting job I expect Armstead or Strief will kick inside (barring landing Collins; if that happens I expect Armstead to the bench if Peat wins a job).

Anthony: very likely to be our starter at the Mike (or potentially the Will). At the very least he should get a ton of snaps in rotation. Immediately becomes our best coverage LB. If he wins the Mike job I expect Hawthorne and Ellerbe to split time at the Will(I can also see Ellerbe splitting time at the Sam).

Kikaha: should split time early at the Sam with Haralson, eventually replacing him as a starter be it this year or next. Potentially a good special teamer also.

Grayson: I don't see Brees leaving before his contract is up but this does potentially give us options especially if extension talks go south. I actually expect Brees to be here for another four years (not going to project further than that) so Grayson will be hitting RFA right when we need to decide if he will be our starter. I can see a Favre to Rodgers transition here if the kid is legit.

Williams: possibly our nickel corner. Not sure yet if he'll ever be good enough on the outside but he should become a standout nickel corner with great tackling ability and aggressive play.

Tull: projects more as a Jack (Galette role) but could rotate in as the Sam in obvious pass rush situations. He'll likely have to earn his keep on special teams though as he is coming into a suddenly crowded OLB field (Galette, Edebali, Haralson, Spencer, Kikaha, Powell, and guys like Ellerbe, Humber and Knox that can play inside or out).

Davison: likely to be Hicks' backup (Walker's replacement). He'll have to win the backup job as his special teams value is low to none.

Swann: they liked him enough to trade up for him but it'll be hard for him to crack the top five. Could potentially be a dime corner but he'll have to earn his keep on special teams. Maybe PS DB for seasoning.

Murphy: immediate candidate for return specialist and could potentially be a third down (pass catching) back. Not likely to factor big in the rotation if he cracks the roster. Possible PS candidate.
