You are basing the ALL-TIME Saints punt returner based on one game against the vikings?!?!

No. I am picking him b/c he is the all-time TD leader in PR's in just four seasons.

Good Lord. I did notice the asterisks on the career PR TD stats at NFL.com

Do you need me to look up the teams the Saints were playing when Lewis had his some of his biggest punt returns?

Where does he rank in terms of yards per return?

I have no clue, but IMO that number is MUCH more important than TDs.

you keep harping on the four seasons vs Lewis 6 but considering Reggie has never had more than 270 PR yards in a season(compared to Lewis' high of 670) I doubt that even if Reggie is a Saint for the next 2 years he isn't going to overtake Lewis for overall Punt return yardage.

He certainly isn't going to overtake Lewis in the Yards/PR stat.

You want a guy that gave you less yards, less yards per return in exchange for 4 more TDs(even though he hasn't run one back in the last 2 years) that's fine.

I want more yards and more consistency. Reggie may have broken it to the endzone 4 more times than Lewis but obviously Lewis was better at putting the offense in better position to score on a regular basis.

Among Saints player's with at least 50 Punt returns in their career?

Dead last at 7.8

Michael Lewis with 140+ punt returns averaged 10.4 yards a return

ETA Lance Moore only needs 6 more PR at his current average per return to be included above Reggie

Moore has 44 punt returns for 8.7 yards per return

Yea, just looked it up as well.

I'd have to go with Lewis as he had 50 more attempts and his average return was substantially higher than Bush's. I think that is infinitely more important than the 4 to 1 TD difference in Reggie's favor.

Wayne Martin on the DL? Or Jim Wilks? Eric Martin at WR? Gene Atkins and Brett Maxie seem like they should be in the running at safety. Or Sammy Knight.

You fricking suck as a poster. I knew this would turn into a bush jerk off session. You have issues. You should just stay off the saints board.

DL - Le'Roi Glover
DL - Will Smith
CB - Mike McKenzie
CB - Toi Cook
CB - Ernie Jackson, edged over Ashley Ambrose who only played 3 years

Michael Lewis PR/KR

Lewis had many more PR's (186) in his seven seasons (76 gamOe had a total of 76 so of course he will have more yards. he averaged 24 per returns per season. Bush averaged 15 per season for a total of 92 in his four year career. His best two years were when he had the most opportunities. So don't be sure sure about him not over taking Lewis.

You can have Lewis and his extra two yards per return. The Saints can start at the 40.6 instead of the 38. I'll take the one who leads the franchise in total D's per return and who leads Lewis by 400% or 500% if you cont playoffs.

KR- Lewis
PR- Bush

riiiiiiiiiight. I am the one with smart arse remarks who turned it into Bush fest.

Now the funny part is that very early in the thread, you, a known Bush hater, posted this:

all the #'s I've given in this thread were not including Lewis' one year in San Fran. Also now that it is not 1 AM I can clear the brain fart from my head and say Bush has had 5 years not 4.

Lewis and Bush are comparing 6 and 5 years respectively.

Bush averaged 15 per season for a total of 92 in his four year career.

Average is really misleading since you are taking one year of him only returning 3. Truth is Reggie has had 3 years out of 5 with at least 20 PR.

Not true, in 09 when he had 27 punt returns, 2nd highest for his career he had only 130 yards and averaged a paltry 4.8 yards a return. For Reggie to overtake Lewis in yards or yards per return he would have to triple his career best year in punt returns which is unlikely.

Man you can keep saying 400% more like it is a huge # but we are talking 4 or 5 TDs to 1. That's 3 different plays. You are being a blatant homer at this point

That is in response to the huge 2.6 yards per return argument. Fact is, he in the all-time leader in PR for TD's.

Since you brought up the word homer I could, of course, say in response :

Saying Reggie is not a member of the ALL-TIME saints team is not being a hater.

Ignoring mounds of stats and evidence that Lewis was a better PR than Reggie is being a homer

ETA Changing the position from KR/PR in order to justify Reggie being on the team is also a homer move

DL: wayne martin is a LOCK. will smith at DE should be too.

OL: you can pencil jahri in right now

RB: replace mays with hilliard

CB: toi cook was no better than fred thomas in his prime. plus he hadrhe best front 7 in football. mckenzie definitely deserves it...the first legit corner of the modern saints unless you consider a washed up eric allen

others have said he only returned only one kickoff, which is true. Just being a realist.

Good god, this thread is not to elect people to the NFL Hall of Fame. Relax big fella.

It was sarcasm. Go hit up a Trojan board. I have defended bush in the past. I'm not a hater, but you are absofrickinglutely ridiculous with the Reggie bush shite. Sometimes I really wish we would outright cut him so you would go away. I took a week off from this board recently solely because of you.

So you brought Reggie bush up sarcastically (i.e., "Reggie Bush / thread"), then tried to call ME out for turning this into a Reggie Bush thread.

Way to bring USC into an unrelated thread. So typical of you.

BTW, thanks for relinquishing so much power to me over your behavior.
