So I was listening to ESPN (Unsportsmanlike) this morning on the way to work. It’s ESPN so they are legally obligated to discuss either the Dallas Cowboys or Aaron Rodgers. Today was an Aaron Rodgers day.
They were asking the question of whether it was more likely that Rodgers would return to the Jets, go to another team or retire. They were saying that any new coach would not want to take Rodgers, even as a bridge QB or on a cheap contract.
What was interesting was the only team they brought up as an example was the Saints and they talked about our future so matter of factly. Smalls said the only team I can think about is the Saints who will have a head coaching vacancy and will need a new QB. Canty then said, “Does Aaron Glenn want to bring in Rodgers and put up with that for a year? No!”
It was kind of amazing to hear them say it like the future is predestined.
Anyway, just thought I’d share that. For your troubles.

as well as a top 5 QB.
Whoa. When Goff came to Detroit he was almost throw away fodder in the Stafford trade. Absokutely nobody thought of him as a top qb and Johnson has a lot to do with that.

100% agree with that. Just saying it helps when all the pieces around him are elite as well. That goes for Goff and Johnson.
I’ve lived in Michigan damn near my whole life and my whole family is from here as well. I’m almost as big a Lions fan as I am saints fan and it’s been nice especially since our LA teams are underperforming lol. Just adding all this to say that I think Johnson will be a star. Just some perspective from someone who has watched every lions game for 2 decades now.
