It was so horrible seeing Favre drive down the field as the game was coming to an end.

I was literally sick to death seeing that. I felt like i wanted to die. We were losing our best ever chance to go to the Super Bowl right there.

Then he threw the pick and it was so incredibly glorious.

That was the biggest change of emotion I've ever had watching sports. Incredible.

waiting on Hartleys kick felt like an hour of a huge weight

Me too. My heart was pounding waiting for that kick, I was thinking this our best ever shot to the super bowl, please make it. Please make it. It's just one kick, we can do this.

When he did make it, the joy I felt was surreal, of course that would be topped two weeks later though.

Being in the dome after that kick was unbelievable. Reminds me of that plaque that says:

Unimaginable from the outside looking in and indescribable from the inside looking out.

Man, I regret not being able to get a ticket even though I tried my hardest. I did watch it in a bar near the dome though.

Even if we win the Super Bowl soon, I don't think it will be able to top that season. It was magical, no other way to describe it

It was a fluke that our offense played so poorly in that game.

Explain

The Saints defense forced turnovers at key times.

I'll agree with that. Probably the "worst" they played all year, def a fluke offense wise

defense gave up almost 500 yds but was frankly outstanding in key moments

which I will take.

Surprised Goodell didn't try and do something about the outcome. Maybe even he realizes there was no unfair advantage for the Saints.

They changed the OT rules because of this game

People about complained the OT format for YEARS, but it wasn't until good ol Brett didn't get to touch the ball in OT that the NFL felt it should be changed.
