I think I read somewhere that these playoffs in general have been the most highest rated in 15 yrs. They expect the Manning vs. Brees SB to be high in ratings also.

So in other words more people watched the game last night than ANY of the American Idol finale's? AWESOME!

On a side note on ESPN's Sports Nation poll there's a question about not having a Super Bowl ticket where would you rather watch the game from....In Miami or New Orleans. New Orleans is leading in the polls.lol.

not quite. Close to 100 million people watch the superbowl. However, this could be the most watched superbowl...ever.

According to ESPN, it was the highest rated NON-Super Bowl program since the Seinfeld finale in May, 1998.

Anyone know what the overnight rating was for the New Orleans Metro??

I remember for the Pats game it was like 88%...this had to be topped.

They showed the Bourbon St cam during the final drive. Maybe 4 people on the street -- I remember 2 fat ladies with shopping bags.

Two minutes after the kick it was packed like sardines....

A massive 63.2 and 82 share.

New Orleans Metro Ratings

ETA: Saints vs Falcons MNF on Nov 2nd was a 63.9 share and the Saints vs Patriots MNF on Nov 30th was a 66.7.

Ratings for Saints-Falcons and Saints-Pats

I think the slightly lower ranking was due to the fact that for meaningful playoff games, fans are much more likely to attend football parties or bars where one TV may be viewed by dozens of fans.

I'd wager that more people in Southeast Louisiana watched this game that the Falcons or Pats game.
