Are you even watching this team? Even if Brees goes back to playing like 2009 Brees, we still have no defense, no offensive line, and no running game.

Ummmmmm......we have a very solid O line, a top 10 rushing attack, and a top 10 defense in the NFL over the past 7 weeks

This crap is starting to feel like LSU. Wait until next year! He's had plenty of time already.

I really think some of you don't watch the games. Sure the defense isn't all world but it is young, poorly coached and injury riddled. That sets things back.
Yet the last two games they have held teams to 28 and 16 while being on the field too long and attempting to pick up the slack from 6 ints.

Defensively this team has improved all season long but still needs work.

I wouldn't give Payton another season.

It'll be same shite again and very similar to the Les Miles situation in which they were 1 year late in firing.

Yall keep saying this but the patients are running the asylum. What do think Loomis and Payton are going to do? Fire themselves?

They are going to be here as long as they want. Watch.

Can yall give me some examples of teams that have climbed the mountain, sunk to the valley and then climbed the mountain again with essentially the same coaching staff and/or GM in place the whole time?

BTW, LSU and the Saints are duplicates of each other. Weak leadership at the top.

That problem isnt endemic to the Saints/LSU. It all stems from the same place...

Benson is the only one who can make this decision to start over. His time is growing short. He won't make this decision this year. But something would need to be done if next season is a failure!!

Im not disputing your assertions but people like you are why we were saddled with Les Miles for so long.

You have to be able to read the writing on the walls and cut your losses before they get too deep. The teams that are successful stay ahead of the curve and are constantly improving and making changes and they sustain success that way. Football is a dynamic sport. You dont see styles, philosophies, etc, stay the same for very long. Plus coaches and FO staff always trend towards complacent. Especially in a city that oozes complacency like the Big Easy. Its cultural.

CSP, Mickey Loomis, and any player or staff member from Bountygate should be let go. They are the face of one of Roger Goodell's high profile legacy triumphs or failures. The league has made all of them ineffective no matter their skill or ability. It is time to cut bait.

Roger Goodell being a vindictive individual will never allow Sean Payton to be successful despite Paul Tagliabue's findings. Unfortunately, the Saints and their fans will have to wait like the Raiders did, for the NFL "old guard" to retire.

Removing the Saints Bountygate regime is the first step back. The league has made it clear that they want CSP and all his friends to disappear.

If you stop and think about it, the Bountygate Lawsuit Concussion Contrivance is both diabolical and insidious in its inception and continuing execution, directed squarely, at the Saints organization.

Yep, 2012-onward are years in which the organization has started the decline.

Why give him another year? He has been a shite head coach for four years now. I believe that is long enough to try to turn something around. If they bring Sean back next year it will just be the same ole mediocre crap. Fire him now and move on.

I don't disagree with you. I wouldn't feel at all like he was not given a fair shake if he was fired after this season. I guess I've been a Sean Payton apologist for too long. As a Saints lifer, I never thought they would win the Super Bowl and I'll be eternally grateful to him for that. However, eight years later, the Saints are definitely on a negative trajectory as an organization with little to no signs of life from our players on Sundays. I just hold on to the pipe dream that he can turn this thing around...but I'm starting to wake up.

This is absolutely retarded.

So why is Goodell letting Belichick succeed?

Like I said this whole premise is ridiculous

Payton doesn't deserve to be on the sidelines next year. This year should be playoffs or bust...and bust is staring him in the face.

Forrest Gump, I will tell you. Concussion lawsuits which can cost the NFL billions can be mitigated and reduced if linked to players intentionally paying to injure each other.

In the case of Coach B, he cost the league no money with or without his actions. It is all theater with the appearance of fair play. Changing the discussion by calling names and not analyzing the link between concussion lawsuits and bountygate is a tool of the paid troll or useful idiot.

Are you both?
