There was a power surge, and the Superdome went dark. Not completely dark, but too dark to play.
Entergy sucked back then too?

Hassan Jones with the hail mary at the end of the half was a killer. They also could not stop Anthony Carter. Minnesota went to SFO and won the following week.

48 takeaways! Now, that was a defense!

Some of my first football memories were of that team. I remember having a “I’m a Saints fan and a Bud man.” poster with the Saints schedule hanging in my room.
I remember attending the loss in the dome to the 49ers. It was probably the first football game I ever attended. I remember Joe Montana and Jerry Rice. I wasn’t old enough to understand football, but I remember how bitter that loss was.
My parents went to the Vikings playoff game, and my grandma was watching us, and I remember waiting for them to come home to find out if the Saints won. I was so young, but somehow I understood the gravity of the playoffs, and I fully expected them to win. I was a little disappointed when my parents came home to deliver the news of the playoff loss.

I was 12. My dad slammed that remote and changed the channel through many a Saints games. Loved and hated them. Fun stuff!

Hoby Brenner sighting.
I was a freshman at LSU that year. Fun seasons for both teams.
