I don't understand why the Thunder would trade three good young players for two players who've suffered major injuries, one of whom will be 31 next season, and aren't guaranteed to resign with the team. They should give up on the Westbrook/Durant duo (a couple of 22 year olds) because of one postseason in which they didn't play well together?

I think I am most surprised at the fact that Nick Collison makes 13.3 mil a year. Who agreed to such an outrageous deal.

It looks like it's front loaded to be cap friendly for OKC. It's an average of $4.8 million per year which probably is what a decent back up big like him could get on the open market.

yeah it's actually a pretty slick deal. they essentially used their remaining 2010-11 cap room to give him a signing bonus on top of his salary (which was like 6.5 mill or so), and then he's on the books pretty cheap when the extension actually kicks in next yr.

I don't really understand why a team that made it to the conference finals would trade away 5 players who all contributed in their run to the conference finals. Russell Westbrook is raw but going to be really good, OKC isn't trading him.
