Bring back a career loser coach. Then parade Zion around town with that coach as basically a father figure. Then fire that father figure. What an amazing way to introduce the future of the franchise to the franchise.
Well 2-3 years from now was when we were supposed to turn into a legit playoff team. I'm assuming you haven't given up on that. If we start winning in his 2-3 year I doubt he will give two shits about firing Gentry. Its basketball, it happens all the time. Winning will cure that.

I don’t expect this team to be in playoff contention or if they are 8th seed at best but I do expect them, with this roster, to beat bad teams at home. This roster has talent and yet they can’t figure it out and constantly make the same mistakes night in and night out. That is coaching

The Pelicans seem to have a high failure rate when coming out of breaks. And this is when Gentry has pulled his chalkboard out and created A plan. A plan that has, more often than not, been defeated by The other coaches offering. Those breaks come more frequently At games end, due to timeouts, and purpose committed fouls. And this is when those other clubs either catch up with and pass the Pelicans; Or just pull away. Gentry cannot match wits with his NBA counterparts. He introduces the losing formula during those breaks. He is the opponents Secret weapon.
