This is the stupidest shite. How can the league mandate who plays?

What happens if Silver says Diallo needs to start. This is why stars get special treatment the league office is demanding it.

He asked to leave not the other way around stick to your word Ad and stay home until April.

This is a lose lose frick pencil neck adam silver

Because the business is built around fans paying to see star players. The last major rule changes happened before last season and were aimed specifically at tanking and resting players.

quote:

Silver called the issue of tanking "corrosive" and acknowledged that the reform in place is "far from perfect." But the commissioner hoped that the new rules would dissuade teams from trying to finish with the worst record in the league to put themselves in position to land the top pick.

The resting regulations deliver Silver the ability to fine teams for sitting healthy players in instances that include nationally televised games. That legislation needed a simple majority to pass.

LINK

By sitting a marquee player like AD the Pels are breaking 2 of the newer cardinal rules. This is about $$$$ for the league.

What Tiger said. Most of you guys who can't fathom this need to think outside the little Pels bubble and put your Adam Silver hat on for a minute

I understand the NBA's position on it and actually agree with it if there are not circumstances around it.

The Warriors randomly resting a guy is far different than the Pels sitting a disgruntled star that is about to get shipped off. It's in AD's, ours, and our future trade partners best interest to have him sit.

I get the NBA's anger on teams resting guys for no reason. The fans get angry that they spend hundreds or thousands of dollars and get screwed. Pels fans know the situation with AD. I highly doubt people are going to Pels games now expecting AD.

I do think about the league that adam silver let's this collusion to happen, however the fine for an open recruitment and tampering of a player under contract is less then the fine for a team who owns a players rights and chooses sit said player. Ad is property of the pels not the NBA, the let adam silver pay his contract.

So can we play him like 30 seconds call a time out and still be in compliance?

It's not as black and white as 'AD stepped onto the court for half a second, therefore we have complied with league rules and everything is cool'. It's a lot more nuanced than that.

You have to play the game. Give him 15 to 20 minutes a night so it doesn't appear like we're blatantly giving a middle finger to AD and the league.

If we don't play the game, the NBA will start penalising us in ways we as fans wouldn't even think about. Along with the monetary punishment obvs.

depends on how the rules are defined. If there are no rules about how long he plays the NBA can't do a damn thing about it.

Pelicans should use this as a statement to get back at Roger Goodell for screwing over the Saints!
