I keep looking at Toronto's players, and seeing Anthony Bennett... his terrible a$$
The friggin 2013 1.1 ... what were the Cavs DOING?
Maybe HE is the one we can blame, for Noel falling so far... and making our Jrue deal a reality.
F'U ANTHONY BENNETT!

I wouldn't blame Bennett bc a historically idiotic franchise and overall sports city drafted him number 1. Anybody that watched him for 5 minutes in college should have easily realized that he is a 14th or 15th man on a bad team at best. The clowns also drafted Dion Waiters at #4 one year.
Let's just keep it simple and blame Demps. He's obsessed with cashing in possible high upside/ low cost assets for high priced/average to slightly above average assets. He does ok on the smaller deals, but his big picture vision for building a contender around AD proved to be absolutely horrible.

That whole draft outside of a few players was pitiful

Not sure this deserves it's own thread since it doesn't seem likely, but Windhorst has made a career out of covering LeBron, so it's not just some random rumor.
Presumably this would be part of some multiteam Love deal if they have interest?

Windhorst: Tyreke Evans and Omer Asik are also some players on the #Cavs radar when it come to trades.

quote:That's what it was at one point, with them taking Asik, and us getting Mozgov. Other pieces, other places. As much as they love Varejao, this one is probably a Reke/Asik for Varejao/Mozgov+ idea. Which would come down to Dell "not getting enough" ... and passing. I wish we could work out the deal with Mozgov first. As far as cap hell goes, one year of Varejao at $9,300,000 before a team option year at $10mm, is better than the 3 years of Asik before we can early terminate. But do you pay Reke to get that? Only if there are no other offers.

I wouldn't expect much for Tyreke anyway. At best you'd probably get a random assortment of bench guys and a 2nd like OKC got for Reggie Jackson. I'd rather move Asik's contract, and it also gets you one year of a rebounding big to take Asik's place, hopefully a nice bridge to Clean Slate 2017. Combine this with a Ryno trade to the Raptors for Scola, Nogueria and their 1st, and you could be in pretty decent shape in 2017 IF you're able to get back to the playoffs next year.
That's the tricky part of Clean Slate 2017, how do you replace Ryno/Tyreke/Asik with guys willing to take one year deals and still be good enough to make the playoffs and show enough to be seen as up and coming again?
