Previous ranking: 9

Zion Williamson has proven to be an offensive force in his first 100 career games, but he's starting to show progress on the defensive end as well. In Monday night's 105-101 win against Oklahoma City, Williamson held the Thunder to 2-14 (14%) shooting as the closest defender according to Second Spectrum data. That's the lowest percentage he's allowed in any game in his career (min. 10 shot attempts against, regular season and playoffs). -- Lopez

I've noticed several switches over the last few games where a guard tries to cross him or go by and he's able to use his length and size to keep the guard in front of him. It's been really encouraging.

Yea on the defensive side of the ball he is definitely showing improvement and more effort. It’s actually been trending that way for a couple weeks but half the fan base goes berserk when he gets switched on elite slashing guards and gets blown by. ??
It’s not 2k, there should be limits to expectations

We're going to be a really good team for the next few years. Becoming a championship team depends mainly on Zion's continued improvement.

If Zion's defense is improving as much as it appears, that's a key sign.

The difference is effort.

I don’t care if he gets blown by, or shoots 6-18, or gives up 40 points.

If the dude’s effort is going to be as elite as it’s been the last 3 games, that’s naturally going to yield a lot more positive results than negative ones.

Dude appears to be healthy, trusting his body and going all out lately. He’s playing with the intensity of the rest of the group and it’s great to see. For the first 15 games, besides maybe 1 of them, he was not doing that. And the question was, was he out of shape, is he still not 100% from injury, was he overthinking, or did he not give a frick on defense?

Whatever the answer is, it appears like he found the solution. If he plays like this most nights, we will win a title in the next 3 seasons. That’s how good he has been not only on both ends, but from an effort and intangible standpoint. The league should be terrified right now.

It’s obvious that Z has increased his defensive effort
