Trade Ideas if Team Continues on path

You can swap BI for Zion I genuinely dont care at this point.

Willie is fired or told hes not being retained over the All Star Break


This is shown as one big trade but you can effectively show it as two.

Trade:

Pelicans OUT: BI/Zion, Cody Zeller, JV, Kira Lewis Jr.

Pelicans IN: Bojan, Allen, Ivey, Duren




Why does Cleveland do it?

They get a replacement big man that they can either extend or expire plus two FRP's for a guy that wont be staying around for them.


Why does Detroit do it?

They get a thought of Franchise Player in distress that they can lure to get a coach with or allow Monty to fail with, plus an additional FRP that might be good if the Pelicans experiment fails.

Why do the Pelicans do this?

We're meeting at the crossroads. Willie Green aint it and we need to get under the tax while also either one BI or Zion still has good value left.

Jarrett Allen and Jalen Duren give you a real good tandem at center for the next three years solidfying that role. Bogdan becomes our super 6 man for at least the next 1.5 seasons and we let Jaden Ivey control the ball.

We obviously pay Trey his 30m a year starting in 2025-2026.

We would have a lineup of:

Allen / Duren
Zion or BI / Herb
Trey / Bogd
CJ / Hawk
Ivey / Jose

Moneywise this puts at a realllll good opportunity to reset with a new group and new coach for at least three years.



For this current season would be 2.1m under the tax. Next season we would essentially let Naji walk and have amazing contract expirings on Bogd and Larry totallying 30 million dollars. We could essentially have another small star or solid one or two players for a playoff push in 24/25 and 25/26 seasons.
