You're going to have to wait for May and June to get the answer. The playoffs will determine Ingram's long-term viability with Z.

The issue is that I actually think he is good enough to be the #2 on a title team, but he refuses to change his game to what it needs to be in order to be that guy.

I've said it a bunch of times. Everyone focuses on the lack of 3s,which don't get me wrong, is valid.
But for me, I look at the other side. He's deadly at the rim. Shooting 81% this season and 74% last season at the rim. Problem is, 12% of his shots this season are at the rim. For comparison, his final 2 seasons in LA, he took 36% of his shots at the rim.

Even if you know that in your heart, it's still something that needs to be seen before we close the door on that chapter.

Leaders are paid a shite ton of money to make these exact type of tough decisions.

When he and Zion are on the court , especially with JV too, BI getting to the rim is a tough ask . The defense is compacted . Bc Z is not a threat beyond 10 feet and teams are willing to give JV uncontested 3s . So unless Zs game expands BI has to get more 3s up to improve efficiency for the offense .
You’ll see him have more opportunities at the rim when he shares the floors with shooters .

Other guys play with Zion and Val, they don't have that same issue.
Even Jose Alvarado takes a larger % of his shots at the rim than BI.
quote:Maybe a slight uptick, maybe. But we'll never see BIs shot profile ve what it needs to be unless BI himself completely overhauls his game. It has nothing to do with the players around him.

BI is 16th out of 18 players this season in % of shots at the rim. Some of those dudes played very few minutes but point still stands. He's only ahead of Hawkins and Matt Ryan. It's a huge problem, just as big a the problem of him not shooting 3s imo.

Well that is a horrible rule. That’s one of the easiest calls to review.
