So you'd trade Davis for the #1 pick in the draft next year?

Hell yes and I guarantee you The Pelicans would as well. I am glad you guys support your team but you guys are acting like he is going to be a top 3 player in the NBA which I never see happening.

Not even remotely close to true. AD put up an incredible rookie PER and had better numbers than KG's rookie year. Wiggins has never even played a minute of college ball, much less shown that he would be better than AD.

If I said that on ANY other board nobody would say it is trolling, you guys just have your Pelicans glasses on which is cool. I hope he does turn out to be a great player for you but IMO Jrue is your superstar,

Jrue is a great player and I am so excited to have him but Davis will be better. The KG comparisons are great and if he does follow a career path like KG then he'll blow up this year. People see decent numbers and Lillard's campaign and think that Davis will just be a good player, but he will be a great player and eventually will probably be the best PF in the league.

I want to believe you because Jrue and AD would both be superstars and we'd have our OKC core. I think Jrue is capped at All Star, though. AD will be a force in this league within a few years.

the dude had the 15th highest PER in the league in his rookie season. he has posted better or similar numbers to greats at his position. what makes you believe he won't be a superstar? I think you are overvaluing your opinion. go ask Cleveland fans if they would give up kyrie for the number 1 pick in next year's draft

AD's rookie PER definitely put him in elite company:

I hope Wiggins fails miserably just because I can't take hearing ridiculous bullshite like this anymore. He's athletic! Dunks alot! Out does 14-18 year olds in West Virginia! He hasn't touched a college floor yet. Preseason last year Shabazz Muhammad was labeled a "once in a generation" talent. He got picked 14th this year. We don't know the future. We don't. And to even think about trading a guy who already looks like he's going to be one of the best bigs in the league for an unproven rook like Wiggins is ignorant. Not only does it have to do with player talent, but what if Wiggins is the next Lebron? But what if next lebron wants to win a national title with Kansas because he knows hell still get picked #1 the following year and he stays. There are so many variables that have to go 110% perfect for that trade to be reasonable, but those variables never have and never will go right. Something will surprise people with this draft, good or bad, whatever it is, we don't know. You don't trade for uncertainty, that's just common sense

I'm tired of hearing about the OKC model and the 2014 draft. OKC got lucky. They hit it out of the park three years in a row and I dare anyone to name another team today that has done the same. The 2014 draft is a mystery. Every draft is a mystery. The 2012 one was. Davis looks great now but before putting on an NBA jersey we didn't know.

Precisely. Drafting in the top five on an annual basis is far from a lock for acquiring future all-stars -- luck plays a huge factor. I doubt you'd find any GM crazy enough to trade Anthony Davis for next year's first overall which, who knows, might not even turn out to be Wiggins.

People like to project that guys like Noel and Wiggins will turn out to be the next Duncan or James. The odds are heavily stacked against it.

Exactly, and if you get guys that good, you can't keep them forever. OKC had to let Harden go to avoid the luxury tax.

Shabazz put up 35 pts at the Nike Hoops Summit and everyone went crazy...he plays one year in college almost fell out of the lottery

Wiggins hasn't played one college game yet you never know what will happen

You know who else was the number one prospect coming out of high school AUSTIN RIVERS so you guys need to relax on putting all your money on potential

I would much rather bet my money today on Jrue Holiday & AD than ANYONE in next years draft...you can't predict injuries (Greg Oden), attitude (DeMarcus Cousins), guys who can't adjust (Thabeet)

just realized WhoDatPelican basically said the same thing I did

This really is the kind of shite I hear from NBA fan boys who "studiously" follow the game and are proven wrong about 70% of the time. I'm not kidding. I won a $1000 bet with two similar douche bags who claimed the Spurs couldn't take the Heat to seven games. Same type of myopia.
