Paraphrasing:

SVG’s Answer: I think the key was simply the head coach finally letting him get time on the court.

- Top 2 paint defense and takes ownership of our problems instead of blaming people for “not executing” while getting red in the eye. Nice change

- Did mention NAW needs to get the turnovers down, but thought he brought great energy and his defense has notably improved.

Think this signals pretty definitively NAW will be in the rotation unless he proves he shouldn’t be

Love all of that. All issues I was pointing out, same with the last post game, and he is recognizing it instead of ignoring it. He is adapting, thankfully.

On the turnovers, you can say the same thing about Lonzo and Bledsoe (and others) at times this year. They all need to continue to work on that (NAW included).

Also like to see that Lewis appears about 11th as far as playing time (and not buried at 13th or 14th). Hopefully he shows he can earn more minutes too.

Good to have a coach who’s aware and then begins to act on said known issues

I think the critique simply speaks to the fact SVG don’t give a shite, he’s very respectful but he’s gonna tell you the hard truths you need to hear.

But he’s gonna take responsibility as well. Not just throw shite at his players as if his shite don’t stink. Which seemed like what Gentry would do way too often.

Things weren’t working for SVG in aspects of the concept so he changed things, things didn’t work for Gentry he demanded the players have to change because no way could it be his system that was untenable.

Idk if he'll be quite as good but it's somewhat similar to what happened with McCollum in Portland.

He didn't do much his rookie year but continuously got better.

Honestly was pretty ho hum his first two seasons then blew up...Also came into the league at NAW’s current age.

I wouldn’t dismiss that for NAW either based on what we are seeing.

Frankly NAW has already shown more defensive potential than McCollum might be showing today lol

Having a good vet like Redick helping him out isn’t bad either. Guy loves the game.

A coach that is accountable and appears to address the issues. Yes indeed.
