Yeah that was always my impression. Guy said and did all the right things you want out of a player, he just didn’t have the talent to match the contract. But I don’t blame that on him. Demps was the moron to throw starter money at a guy that had like one small playoff hot streak and enough evidence to suggest it was fools gold.

Demps spent his entire tenure as GM searching for a 1980s SF for a 2010s roster.

He did not deserve that contract, but he wasn't a terrible player.
He got better in his 2nd year here, but that injury he had to his hamstring or whatever it was really made him terrible for quite some time. He was a good defender before it, and seemed like a smart player offensively at least when it comes to taking shots within his talent level as well as making nice cuts off ball.
