My bad, I thought he was coming off the bench for them. I don't know this draft well, but I think the basic principle works if you can find a good trade. If it's not a deep draft that's even more reason to look at all of your options.

Remember the Austin Rivers pick. In hindsight that was just a weak draft after 9. There really wasn't a truly better pick to make. In fact the hindsight play would have been to add a future pick and trade up with Toronto to take Drummond (assuming you couldn't move up enough to get Lillard).

So trading up should be on the table too if this is a weak draft where the Pels are picking.
