If you are interpreting what I am saying or you yourself think that Zion is a one for one for Shaq I have to ask how many Pels games you’ve actually watched?
Zion is Shaq-like in his ability to dominate the interior beyond what the next closest person in the league can do in their respective era, and in that there is no one like him physically in the league. His combo of athleticism and strength make him unguardable one on one. His domination in the interior comes with a Lebron like athleticism and point guard skillset that allows him to facilitate your offense and attack you off the dribble. Shaq was dominating in a completely different way. You are probably right that Shaq would struggle more in today’s game, but Zion is in this era and is dominating.
RJ’s biggest problem is that he is a pretty empty stats guy. 23% usage to get 17 points on 52% true shooting. That’s a guy that can’t be your lead option but isn’t an ideal second or third option either because of the lack of efficiency and reliability. That’s why if I am only getting one of the two players for 5-7 years, as is the new reality for small markets, I’m probably taking Hunter over him. But Hunter isn’t the best in that draft class either lol. He’s a more efficient version of the archetype Barret currently is. But Zion and Morant are franchise cornerstones that can be your best player on a championship squad.
RJ has a ways to go before he can claim something like that, and it’s questionable whether he ever will

Again, I’m not sure why you are trying to apply the oranges of Shaq’s game to the apples of Zion’s? Zion has been an improving 72% ft shooter since his rough December start. RJ Barrett is only 73% on the year while getting there with half the frequency.
The problem with you trying to use my Shaq comparison to trash Zion(laughable in its own right) is that the aspects of his game you pick to use to do so are where the comparisons don’t hold up because Zion doesn’t have those problems.

And RJ has really improved (i watched some Knicks matches). He plays better than before.
Y’all chill out. He’s watched a few nicks games so his opinion is super informed.

You know they put rules in place to help mitigate some of the benefits of hack-a-shaq strategy.

Shaq won 4 titles and went to 5 finals in the 2000s. May wanna brush up on your bball knowledge. As for today, Shaq would be even more unstoppable. Shaq was a MONSTER running the open floor and people often sleep on his passing ability.

No, it wasn't. But sometimes, it was the best strategy to defend Shaq, because there basically weren't any good strategies to defend Shaq.
Hack-a-Shaq would quickly get your bigs in foul trouble and often foul them out. You'd put the other team in the bonus early every quarter. It wasn't "effective" at all.
