However...we do have to start seeing this roster make some semblance of sense going into next season or I will begin to be worried.

Oh, I agree. The biggest issue has been the decline (or lack of progression) in Jax and Melli. They aren't even contributing at an decent level and this is against parts of other teams 2nd units. Our numbers with Adams off the floor is terrible.

Melli I think is done in the NBA after this season.

It was a swing and a miss and unless he does a 180 starting pretty soon, there just isn’t much demand for a 30 year old. 33% from three shooting stretch big with mediocre defense and average athleticism.

He’ll be on his way back to Europe 10 million richer thanks to our poor scouting and that will be the last we see of him imo.

Hayes is going to be hard to escape the label of being the wrong pick and increasingly looks like his development curve is going to be long and his ceiling lower than people anticipated. I think he can still become a positive contributor, maybe even start late this season in a perfect scenario, but I think the amount he has to add to his game to truly be the right compliment for Zion seems unlikely right now. Not impossible, but he needs a lot of work

Ingram is in his 5th season and almost halfway through his career. He won't be in the league by the time he is 30.

Is this for real? Only reason for players to not be in the league as long as possible are injuries or they suck. We already know BI doesn't suck.

The majority of people drafted or signed do not make it in the league and they skew the data. Same with the NFL.

Right. The average nfl career is about 2 years, but only because of the amount of late and undrafted players the never make a team or only stick around a year or 2.

Great players don't just quit in their late 20s/early 30s. That's so extremely rare, even moreso in the nba where the physicality is less. I'm trying to think of ANY even good players that quit before 32, much less 28-30.

Some of the advanced stats show that we have been playing better with him in than out, and that he has a high +/- per 100. Only Adams is really better. I get that it's small sample skewed but maybe he is doing better on defense that what we've been noticing (because he definitely hasn't been scoring).

I can’t really either, unless it’s due to injury, someone like Brandon Roy, if you get over the hump and make it to a second contract putting up respectable stats as a starter or 6th/7th man, you tend to stick around the league into your 30’s.

I mean look at our boy Solo lol.

Guy was a huge disappointment and albatross for years, yet there he is, 4th or 5th contract, lumbering his arse from team to team in his 8th or 9th season.
