If Jrue were open to returning to NOLA would you trade Jordan Poole for him straight up? Yes, it would be an extra year of salary but would allow Jrue to finish his career here.

I get it but I don’t think it would delay Fears at all. Jrue is a Mosley kind of player and would be a solid bench guard.

You're tying up a lot of money into a guy who is a stopgap instead of trying to acquire a guy who you can build around Fears with. 37 mil is a shite ton of money they can really use to get him a running mate.

First, I think Jrue and his agent would push back against playing back with the Pelicans in a non-contender situation.
Then, taking back that big extra year of salary in place of Poole's expiring basically puts Pels in a cap-crunch where they'd need to trade one or more big salary players with little to no salary coming back. Don't see it happening.

No, you have the veteran leadership, you don't need him for that.
You have a plethora of guard play as well. You need a veteran center if anything because there isn't any other option.
