No, sorry. I didn't mean to connect the two.
It was two separate thoughts.
For Jackson we'd have to use part of the MLE or BAE since we don't have space.
I was trying to say we also have two TPEs to fill out role players on roster.

Does Jackson's salary matter since it will be league minimum?

It depends. If they sign him to one or two years, no. But if they do like they did with Diallo and offer more money to keep him longer and to get his bird rights, then yes it does.

You can't use your TPE sign a draft pick. You can only use the TPE via trade at equal or less value.
