Why would the Pacers make THAT deal?
because they have been looking to start anew/move Danny, and D-west gives them atleast a year of 18 and 9 and juju gives them young talent(?)

really? I have not seen this in print, if true obviously getting a hometown boy that fits a position of need would be huge....but I just dont see any huge trades happening just to please CP3 (but I hope I'm wrong)

Laugh all you want, but they've said that they want a PG and want to be players in next year's free agency. If they honestly believe that Paul George will be almost as good as Granger for 1/10 the price they'll happily move Granger.
Collison is a great option for them moving forward, plus George is cheap, and they can use the money previously going to Granger for a couple of solid pieces. Clearing cap space for next year's FA doesn't automatically mean they're going after the best two free agents.

The moving Granger thing is just speculation by most because they drafted Paul George. Why have two of the same player, especially if one makes drastically less than the other?
Insider has had a few posts recently suggesting that the Pacers main objective this year is to shed salary to get under the luxury and to become players in next year's FA.

Chris Paul is a game changer. Collison is not. He put up great numbers, especially for a rookie, but he won't be nearly as efficient as a healthy CP.
Collison isn't on Paul's level, so CP is not expendable. Paul George could very soon be at or near the level of Danny Granger, which does make Granger expendable. There's a huge difference between the two situations.

SF- Granger,Batum,big Q
PF- Brackins/Przi....

Collison will be just as good as CP, its just going to take time. DC's starting stats> CP's rookie stats. DC will be a damn good PG

So you're saying CP and Collison's upsides were equal to start their rookie years? You have your opinion, which is fine, but I don't think Collison will ever be as good as CP.

I highly disagree that two situations are much different.
I don't see how you think a rookie drafted at the #10 spot is going to come close to putting up back to back 24+ pt seasons as a franchise player anytime soon, but yet you won't see that DC put up similar numbers to CP3 in actual NBA games.

You don't need an all-star point guard to win titles. DC will be just as good as CP3 when he's surrounded with the right pieces. Place some quality talent around DC and watch how great he will look. From a one-on-one standpoint, yes CP3>DC, but DC will be just fine if they surround him with some key pieces.

I have high expectations for DC in years to come. You should all just stop posting trades involving DC cause hes going nowhere. Paul has made up his mind that he is going to be James' bitch and do exactly what he does. Hes already decided he wants out and I dont think they will be able to convince him otherwise.

Correct. At this point, I think it's a matter of whether he'll force his way out in the next 2 years or whether he walks during free agency in 2012.
The only way I don't see him leaving is if the next CBA is such a massive change that his dreams of playing on a super-team with Amare and Melo are completely dashed.

Just walked down to 1st floor from office. There are 8 media members already standing outside, "staking out" the building.

What if we have a trade ready to go that sends DC and Okafor to the Pacers for Granger.
We tell Chris Paul we only do the move if he assures us he will stay in Nola.
Do we do it? Or make him sign an extension first?
