Personally Im not sure what I expect out of the next CBA

They could screw it up. I believe it was the 2011 CBA they changed extensions with the intention of making it better for teams to keep their own players, but after all of the compromise that comes with collective bargaining, they pretty much killed extensions and everyone but the rookies were better off waiting to get to FA, even if they wanted to stay with the same team. So the outcome was the opposite of the intent.

I also think Zion qualifying for Rose Rule money is extremely important. All he should need to do to get that is play at least 70 games next season and the awards will follow, but playing most of a season for Zion is not a guarantee. If he doesn't qualify and the Pels can't offer much advantage on the 2nd contract, that is certainly a potential break point.

Once Ingram went out I didnt expect us to win any games. Granted I only thought he was going to miss 2-3 games. As long as both of them are out, I dont think we beat anybody. It'll be a pleasant surprise if we do, but i'm not getting my hopes up.

By all accounts ownership wants wins, and Griff made moves to go in that direction, but failed, mostly. So I do not see that perspective at all, the opposite in fact. We seem to be the sort of team desperately trying to imitate a better team than we are, and it is probably going to result in another shitty season where we arent good enough to make the playoffs but lose out on the top prospects.

By rebuild I don’t mean go full on Process . They aren’t actively trying to lose . With Bi and Zion both healthy that won’t happen .

when Zion went down I think everything changed as far as how they would approach the season . If it didn’t happen then it’s happened a few games in .

I view it more along the lines of what Brooklyn did . I don’t see or hear anything out of the Pels or Willie that makes me think they are dying for Ws. Everything is about playing hard and playing the right way , and being in the game at the end . It’s about the process and laying a foundation . I see Jonas and graham as taking on quality players at below market deals ...which you have to take advantage of those opportunities when they arise .

We started a second round pick from night 1 and are playing young guys a bunch of minutes . You reference starting temple as evidence against rebuilding ...does starting a 12 year journeyman end of bench guy make you think we are trying to win? ??

There is clearly no rush to get Zion on the court , they have been very cautious/slow with BI . Losses will stack until those guys are both back and you hope to gain chemistry and turn some close games into W’s ob the back half of the season like we saw with Phoenix in the bubble .
