While I agree with your points on Embiid and believe he’s very deserving of the MVP, Jokic dealt with missing supporting players as well.

I was actually rooting for Joel to win it, but if everyone’s being honest, this isn’t some crazy tragedy like Nash over Shaq, Rose over Howard or James, or Westbrook hunting stats to win an MVP.

The award is “Most Valuable”, not “Coolest Stats” or”Most Triple Doubles” Award.
When Jokic was on the court, the Nuggets were the equivalent of a 62 win team, and when he's off the court they were the equivalent of a 17 win team.

That's a 45 win difference. Embiid on/off was a 28 game difference.

And we just witnessed firsthand how valuable Embiid is when he missed 2 games of the series with Miami.

The votes were turned in before that, and we had the entire regular season as proof of Jokic's value over Embiid.

No Embiid and Philly can’t stay within 20 points of Miami. Add 50% Embiid with 3 different series injuries and lacking conditioning and Miami looks like a heavy underdog now.
Of course they're going to look better with Embiid playing vs not playing in the 2nd round of the playoffs, he's really good.

Also, bit of overkill with the Miami as "heavy" underdog as they're still favored to win the series.

Yeah I dont have a problem with Jokic winning it, personally, I think he best fit the definition of what "MVP" is supposed to mean. What he did this season was early career Lebron-esque in raising the floor of an otherwise bottom tier roster.

But if they had picked Embiid, or Giannis, I wouldn't have fought it much. All three have solid cases that can be made IMO.

Embiid deserved it dealing with the Ben Simmons garbage and his replacement, James Harden sucking.

If you think this version of James harden sucks, I wonder what word you would use to describe Denver’s guard play this season.

Jokic’s 2nd best player this year was Aaron Gordon. The 3rd best was…Monte Morris? Will Barton?

Did y’all seriously expect ^^that group^^ to beat the warriors?

45 wins and out of the playin is pretty impressive considering the losses Denver had from a personnel standpoint. I’m good with the decision.
