With BI's improvement this season as a distributor, we really don't need a true starting PG. Zion and BI can bring the ball up the court and initiate the offense. We have two quality backup PGs in Jose and Dyson, and we'd want one of them on the floor when either BI or Zion sits down.

I am not a hater of CJ, but I kinda want us to use his salary to acquire a shooting center like Turner, Lopez, or Porzingis. Then I'd roll out a starting five of Herb, Trey, BI, Zion, and the center. That's my wild offseason.

Can you name a really good team that does this?

Jones is going to defend PGs full time?

Uh, no. Did you read my post? I said that I expect Jose and Dyson to play a lot of minutes, and Herb would not be guarding the opposing PG during most of those minutes. So, Herb would be on the opposing PG to start and finish the game, but he'd normally spend most of his minutes guarding other positions.

My thought to trade CJ for someone like Porzingis, Lopez, or Turner would, I believe, create a lethal starting/finishing 5.

The problem is that we'd be losing a lot of shot creation, and it would add to BI and Zion's burden on the offensive end to create. Jose can create pretty well, and Naji can do a bit of it, and we saw Herb and Trey do more of it, and maybe Dyson can develop, but I still think that what we'd be doing would not help BI and Zion to stay healthy, because putting a greater burden on them to create is more likely to result in injury for them, and so I think that it's ultimately not a good plan for this offseason.

But it might be a good plan for the trade deadline, if Zion, BI, and CJ are all healthy at that point.
