hopefully we can find someone(s) dumb enough like the Bulls taking Asik to take Solo and/or Ajinca off of our hands.

That would be nice.

Ajinca is more realistic to trade because he's an expiring contract with only $5 million left on the deal. I doubt anyone would consider taking on Hill's $25+ million unless the Pelicans also give up future draft picks.

Hill is definitely overpaid, but it's also fair to say he'll be more reliable in 2018/19 since he won't be coming off a hamstring injury. Hopefully, he become a solid contributor.

People need to just accept that unless they can make a Paul George type of trade, Hill will be the starting SF, at least for the first half of the year. Demps has been a big Hill believer since he was drafted and is not going to pay to dump him this summer and probably won't promise free agents like Ariza the starting SF spot.

Anjica has to go. Solomon or Moore are also likely gone at some point if we re-sign Boogie. Dell will be looking to shed money and upgrade like he did with the Asik-Niko deal. Solo is not dead weight like Asik, but we will likely wait until closer to the trade deadline to move him so that he can regain some value coming off the injury.

More good Niko quotes

quote:

“First of all, I am very proud of this team, the way we fought as a team all season since I got here,” said Mirotic, a February trade acquisition. “It was amazing. We never gave up. This team is about to do something special. I believe that. What we did is just the beginning of something that we hopefully can do next year.”

...“This was the most fun I’ve ever had in the NBA,” he said of his three-month tenure in the Crescent City. “I felt so comfortable here, with the community, with the team. I really felt at home. Now that the season is over, I can say I was lucky to be traded to the Pelicans. It was the best move that could happen to me and my family. We are extremely happy with where we are right now. We love New Orleans and are just looking forward to being better and helping this team improve. I’m really thankful for the trust they had in me.”

...“It was a great season,” he said. “We know what we are capable of. We sent a good message to the league that the Pelicans are coming. I’m very excited for our future.”

That would be extremely stupid.
