Sources: The NBA has informed teams that daily surveillance COVID-19 testing for players, coaches and Tier 1 personnel will not extend beyond Saturday.
Individuals will remain subject to testing if symptomatic, exposed or enhanced directive by league office.
Did the league relax testing before and brought it back with Delta/Omicron, or is this the first time they've pulled back on the testing?

Didn’t they announce some kind of ramp up right before the holidays?

So everyone in the US is coming down with COVID, and they are now relaxing the testing standards ... LOL
COVID is fricking stupid.

It's because the evidence is now overwhelming that Omicron is less severe.
Except for a few idiots such as Kyrie, the whole league is vaxxed and boosted. The players are at essentially zero real risk of hospitalization or serious illness.
The coaches would still have some risk, but the risk of hospitalization is still very small for those vaxxed and boosted, except for the elderly and/or obese.
