You can watch plenty of film on youtube and develop your own opinions.

Even if you took the time to watch YouTube videos, you’re watching a highlight video or you’re watching someone else’s draft breakdown of a player. One is helpful, but it’s still someone else’s opinion of a player.

If you’re watching a handful of games on each prospect the Pels may be interested in, my apologies.

For the guys like Mathy, Johnny Davis, Agbaji, etc. who played on good major conference college teams, it wouldn’t surprise me if people on this board have seen them play at least 2, maybe as many as 5 or 6 games against solid competition. That’s part of the reason I like Mathy- I watched him play against UCLA in the Pac 12 title game and saw him initiate more offense with the Arizona starting PG out due to injury. He looked fairly comfortable as a pick and roll ball handler in addition to his normal good shooting.

Now someone like Dyson Daniels or Sharpe, they’re very likely relying on a scouting report/highlights.

@greewe seems to nail it about how I see it.

The question in my mind is how much better does he have to get for me to be glad for the Pels to take him with the 8th pick?

He is already a big time athlete with a great frame and long arms, has become a high quality shooter from outside, so basically I’m wanting to see some more ball handling and shot creation. If he were to develop some as a creator then you likely have a quality playoff caliber starter that is a plus player on both ends, and that’s a win at 8 if you can get it.

Creativity and moxey aren’t easy to develop but the physical tools are there…it’s certainly no more development than was required for several All NBA guys like Kawhi, Siakam, Jimmy Butler, Oladipo, DeRozan…all those guys had pretty low assist totals in college and were works in progress that kept getting better.

I’m just not sure I see the value in some of these guys that have a long way to go just to be as accomplished as Agbaji already is, and they will likely never be his level of athlete.
