I get it. For me, though, any of that was outweighed by those timely rebounds he did get, his toughness, and his absolutely killer fall away jumper.

Oh don't mistake that for not recognizing that. West may be one of, if not, my favorite player since I have followed this team.

Guy embodies almost everything you want out of a supporting guy. I would kill for a guy like West on this Pelicans team. A leader, a fiery competitor, plays both ends and is consistent while not monopolizing the ball.

West was the opposite of high variance. Guy was the epitome of consistency. I remember the stat form that 07 run where West had only ONE game where he scored both less then 10 points and less then 10 boards. Outside of that game he ALWAYS gave you at least 10 points or 10 boards. Then the following season only scored less then 10 ONCE....When he got hurt 15 minutes into the game. He always found a way to give you something.

Make no mistake about it David West might be my favorite Hornet. My respect continues to grow for him game by game.

Seeing him give up the type of money he did to go to SA for a chance at a ring just reinforces that.

On the flip side with Chris Paul, he continues to get more annoying by the year. I know it might sound unappreciative but I just cant stand to watch him now. The flopping, whinning and "unintentional" Shots to the groin makes him hard to tolerate.

That move(which he has been pulling more often these days) where he dribbles the ball into bigs legs and stops suddenly in transition to draw cheap fouls and almost seriously hurt AD doing it was a major turning point in my respect for him.

It's such a cowardly move. I honestly put it in the category of things like Bowen when he would slide his foot under jump shooters.

Rooting for the West and the Spurs over OKC. It's just something about when the Hornets played in OKC during Katrina just rubbed me the wrong way. They supported the Hornets because they've never had a team before, then they get a team team and have Durant, Westbrook, & Hardin fall in their lap so the support is through the roof. Hope Durant leaves town during FA

The Voice of Reason wreaked havoc on their first message board. The days of Doug Load-on-back and Betsy.

The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way with the OKC Hornets situation was them trying to muster up a petition using our disaster as evidence we didn't have the ability to properly support a team. Kicking us while we were down essentially.

It was a pretty friggin big one thing that they did and its been enough to make it hard for me to root for them. Even though I have a lot of respect for Presti and Ibaka.

Respect the Spurs, but David West can kick rocks. Great player, very clutch, but he bailed on the franchise when we needed a star most to keep it together. I'll never forgive him for that. And now he's trying to win a title with our biggest rival. DAVID WEST CAN KICK ROCKS. I'll say it forever. Go ahead, justify his leaving...

Well that's what he left New Orleans in search for. But he's a division rival now as far as I'm concerned.
