Well questions and I'm interested in what the board thinks on a few of these

1) If we receive the medical hardship exception (4 injured players that miss at least 3 games), should we sign another ball handler (i.e. Ty Lawson or Norris Cole) or retain one of the Jones (Jalen or Perry)?

2) I haven't seen much of Crawford this preseason. Is this because they want others to get time or because he is falling out of the rotation? What do you think?

3) Same question with Diallo. Haven't seen him since game one, what's his role this season?

4) Cunningham, Clark, Moore, Miller, and Allen. What does the minute breakdown look like and who will have the biggest impact?

1) they need another ball handler now and are hoping one of the guards steps up
2) I predict Crawford will get cut
3) buried on the bench which is ok
4) way too much DC, Miller will be what he was before (useless)

1. Doesn't matter. Whatevers cheapest. The offense needs to go through Cousins, so who cares who the PG is while Rondo is out. They need shooters, not ball handlers. Offense should be in constant motion, and having a true PG shouldn't be needed.

2. He hasn't looked too good. They have until 11/9 to cut him, and he'd be owed $250k and that's what would count towards the cap as well if he's cut. Looking likely at this point he'll get cut.

3. he has all the physical tools to be a good player. i think he's both immature and possesses zero basketball iq. He'll probably get some chances, but i can't see him playing much unless there are injuries, even though he and Ajinca are the only bigs we have coming off the bench.

4. As others have hinted, something is screwy about Allen. I think he's hurt and even if he isn't, he isn't playing much.
DC will start. Moore will too now that Rondo is out. Clark will be the first off the bench, and Miller will be given a shot to prove himself, but he has looked like the rookie Miller, not the German Miller. I hope Miller has the biggest impact, but i doubt that. Moore will have the biggest impact. With his defense, if he can get aggressive shooting 3's, he can put up 12-14 a night and be a good player for us.

Just gonna answer number 3

Diallo has a very nice offensive skill set, but his BBall IQ is low. He misses a lot of assignments and looks lost on defense. The guy is still super, super raw.

God could you imagine missing out on Cunningham and having to rely on Miller? He has been terrible

1) I think Demps has probably put out some feelers but with the cap/tax situation he's going to see how things go before making a move. There are a bunch of bad teams in the first 12 games that AD/DC should have enough talent to handle.

2) McNamara made an interesting point on the latest BSS podcast. The new way the team wants to play, and it's very evident that it's a new style, Crawford's ISO heavy game doesn't fit. I think Demps will take a wait and see approach with Crawford too. If a move needs to be made Crawford is the only guy you can cut and clear salary, but if no move needs to be made just keep him in reserve for those games when nobody can make a shot and you want to give the irrational confidence guy a turn.

3) If the team was deeper then Diallo definitely doesn't play. Not being worse than Ajinca doesn't mean he's going to help you win games. If he's playing in the first half of the season he'll be a net negative. It will be interesting to see how much he's able to improve between now and after the ASB this season though. He might be ready to earn some minutes by then.

4) I think Moore gets traded before the year is over, so I'm going to go with Clark having the biggest impact of those listed.

Agreed on Diallo. Guy is so talented but I didnt realize how raw he was. I mean the guy has had an entire year of just basketball and we still see some very obvious holes in his game. Definite improvement and I think he can be a solid role player but he's just not quite ready. Unfortunately I think we are going to have to give him a few minutes due to our roster situation. As Cunningham moves to SF, Diallo has to play some PF.

It kills me if that's true about Crawford. Love that guy. But I can see how he doesn't quite fit. But why can't he just learn how to modify his game into the new offense? It doesn't seem like a huge adjustment to me to run around a bit and once you get the ball do your thing.

Moore getting traded? What makes you think that?

Praise the Lord Cunningham has loyalty to the Pels because we would've been screwed if he signed with Minnesota.

I noticed the same about Miller. Yes his shot has improved but he's still timid. As a matter of fact, Moore seems like the only player outside of AD, Cousins, Jrue, and Rondo, that is remotely aggressive. Miller needs way more of a scorers mentality.

As for Allen, I think its mainly that Gentry wants to keep him fresh and I don't think he needs to get a feel for the offense in preseason. I think he's been brought in as a defensive specialist and he knows how to perform it.

The 2018 1st is burning a hole in Demps' pocket. Moore is the biggest salary that isn't a core piece and isn't a negative contract. Unless they go after a cheaper guy still on a rookie contract Moore will have to be part of the trade.
