The top 3 guys in foul trouble are also probably the best wing defenders in the league. Not a bad top 3 list. I just think lot of Herbs fouls are part of his aggression on defense and its hard to take that away.

i'm fully aware of Bill Russell... played in an era where he was physically far superior to anyone else not named Wilt Chamberlain... and if we even measure Bill's defensive prowess based on the small sample size done that had him averaging 8.1 blk/game, he's still not the best ever... Wilt's average was 8.8... to go along with averaging more rebounds than Bill, to boot...
however, Hakeem played against other much more physically equal players than either of these two... while all of them were great, great players, Hakeem, in terms of defense ONLY, is in my opinion, the best ever... and i wasn't really a fan of his, but when you look at the numbers and put them in context of the era he played, it's pretty damn impressive
