Pardon my ignorance and correct me, I dunno if that's correct.

They were good, yes. Were they ever considered contenders? no.

They were similar to this years rockets, good but no one ever considered them title contenders.

Monty's only playoff team was pretty good. And it took CP and Ariza playing out of their minds to get 2 wins.

lmao you a damn lie! Fans of that Hornets team were thrilled to "take the spurs to 7" You won't hear any of that out of Houston after this season regardless of how it ends. Houston is clearly a contender to deny it would be ignorant.

Matter of fact, Houston was better than the Hornets that season. And I will admit that we weren't contenders that year. So that tells you where the bees were in the pecking order.

You were knocked out a round earlier, were three seeds behind us, and finished third in the division that we won.

This means nothing, we had a tougher matchup. Let me guess, The 57 win Nuggets weren't as good as the 45 win Bulls without Rose last year. After all the nuggets DID get knocked out a round earlier.

We were one game back and Yao missed about 30 games. I don't think anything more needs to be said abot that.

I think he's doing a decent job with the hand he was dealt(Demps incompetence and injuries). This team when healthy and playing its best ball would at best be looking at a 6 seed and a first round exit.

Thanks

I think the cap on this current roster's potential is a 6-8 seed in the playoffs. I believe Monty can get us that far but I put the cap there not because of Monty. Give him some more talented players and our ceiling would be much higher (obviously). I really think people are overlooking our major injuries this season and blaming Monty for everything is the easy thing to do. He hasn't been great this season but he hasn't been horrible considering two of our top scorer's are done for the year.

Also Surfer forgot to mention Brian Roberts, who everyone on here likes to hate on for some reason but he's done a nice job as a replacement for Jrue. He struggles defensively but he has shown the ability to run the offense and he can straight up score. He has improved from last season.

Most neutral commentators in 08 stated that the Hornets would be a contender the following season. They were on the cusp. Then Shinn and the Walrus went to work with their "magic". Posey gonna Posey.

So what I'm seeing is be patient, don't get rid of Monty, hope dell makes some decent off season moves, everyone gets healthy and that there is a small miracle and we keep our pick.

Yes. Which is better than OMG fire everybody, start over with a new coach who might suck and then we're back in the same position again.

Part of the reason that the the screams of Fire Monty are so loud is because a good candidate has been campaigning for the job all season. I'm kind of interested in Hoiberg too. If the short list began and ended with Avery Johnson, I don't think as many people would be on board.

Yes, he's been talking about how much he loves the roster and how disappointed he's been in how the team is playing all year.

So, why go in a new direction, ever? Let's stick with a guy who proves he sucks, instead of changing to a new coach who might suck? Ok.
