Didn't Magic's offer include this year's pick (4th) in addition to Kuzma?

So basically they would have gotten more had they accepted then? I don't believe those were top 5 protected (only top 3).

It wasn't the #4 pick at the time though.

Wouldn't have ended up 4th if we had traded him at the deadline, also we wouldn't have gotten Zion.

Because they would have still landed #4 right.

That would've altered every single thing that happened though. We wouldn't have the first pick. And Lakers pick wouldn't have jumped to 4 because Lakers would've been in the playoffs.

1) didn’t know it would be 4th
2) pick would’ve been higher if AD played for the lakers after the deadline

Not that complicated Einstein

Can't play hindsight. If AD goes to the Lakers mid-way through last season:

1) There is no guarantee the Lakers would have missed the post-season and been in position to get #4.

2) The Pelicans could have arguably won more games with the players acquired than with AD riding the bench; thus no Zion.

Yes.

And we wouldn’t have gotten ZION.

We wouldn’t have gotten pick 4.

-Get Zion and #4, have a brilliant future
-Get Kuzma and own the Lakers

This is gonna be like the CP3 trade where we have to spew out the reality of this situation over and over isn't it lol

Lakers pick prob falls to the teens or lower with AD on the team and where our pick ends up might be completely diff if we go full tank mode and our past medical staff handling BI's blood clot and Lozno ankles sound like a nightmare.
