The Pelicans best player (AD) doesn't like the offense, it just doesn't work for his skill set. Gentry is a good assistant coach, but not a good head coach.

is the wrong offense for Davis.

I don't buy that at all. Amare Stoudemire put up silly numbers in this offense. He worked the paint and the elbows and got the ball where he could score. Yes, he had Nash in PHX. Amare also put up great numbers in NYK in the same system before his knees gave out with Raymond Felton and Toney Douglas feeding him. Davis is a better version of peak Amare. They just can't get him the ball right now.

team needed to shoot more threes (as well as AD). This strategy works if you have Curry.

They have Anderson and Gordon, two guys who are high % and high volume 3P shooters. Holiday and Babbit are good 3P shooters. Why shouldn't they leverage 3PA for guys like that? And they have done a nice job getting good looks from 3 for shooters. They've taken 500 3s that were either Open or Wide Open according to NBA.com. Of those 500, just under 400 (~80%) have been taken by Gordon, Anderson, Holiday, Babbitt, and Davis. Gordon and Anderson account for about half of the 500 3PA. Again, that's OPEN and WIDE OPEN 3PA.

It's not jack up 3s for anyone and everyone. Guys that can shoot from 3, get to shoot open looks from 3. That makes a good bit of sense to me, Steph Curry or not.

Okay, we're not improved from the start of the season. We're still getting blown out and we're out of every game by the end of the first.
Except we're not. We're in pretty much every game til the end. And in most of those games, Cole on the bench and Ish on the floor would have been enough for the win. Fact.

Didn't say they were good, and I didn't say they were better than their record demonstrates. But if you think you're watching the same team you were early in the season, you simply haven't been to enough games.

I love the argument, "we're not losing as bad but we're still losing."

I've played and coached and the offense is not good for Anthony Davis. Having him shoot more threes is stupid. Gentry and Johnny Jones are like watching AAU teams.

If you have this experience then tell us the following:

A list of actual realistic coaches

A style you want the team to play

A detailed and realistic way to fix the roster

To answer your question about the offense, I like Thibs motion offense, also his teams play great defense (which boys and girls will win what? That's Right Johnny a championship!)

A 1-point loss is just as much of a loss as a 20 point loss. But being competitive in games as opposed to being blown out every game is a sign of improvement. They aren't there yet, but they are inching closer.

I think he should be.

We should be moving forward. With Monty, at least, we were moving FORWARD the last 3 years. With his new idiot we have moved backwards...ALOT. FAR BACK.

Our inuured players are back. Whats the excuse now? We have Tyreke and Norris Cole back. We still losing games. Everyone talked about how it was by fault of all our injuries that we were losing and then we get our injured players back and nothing changes. I been saying all along...the inuries may have affected us a little bit, but just havning evans and cole back isnt going to somehow magically boost us forward to be a playoff team. Gentry is a joke. I was REALLY excited to have him at first until after 20 games. Hes got to go. While Monty may have not been the best or the best fit for the team at least we moved FORWARD under Monty and got better each year! And Davis got BETTER each year. Davis first 20 games last year were on a whole nother level compared to right now. If we arent to .500 by end of january we have no hope at getting an 8 spot.

Gentry please excuse yourself from new orleans. bye.
