yeah, basically the dumb arse did. Philly wanted Noel not the other way around. He was there suprisingly for the Pelicans to take and they did even though the kid from Kansas was the better pick. If you're a smart GM like I would be. I'm giving Philly what they want and asking for their No. 1. Not the other damn way around.

Having Noel with Davis made more sense for a long term build

That's assuming Noel doesn't have to worry about future knee injuries, his game translates to the NBA, he develops a low post game and mid range shot and he can add on good weight and keep it. Jrue is a proven commodity and is STILL getting better. I know you reactionary bastards think we'll suck so bad we'll get Wiggens, who could end up like Shabbaz version 2.0, but tell me, with this roster do you think we would be that horrible?

Vazquez,Rivers,Roberts
Gordon,Rivers
Free Agent,Anderson,Thomas
Davis,Anderson,Smith
Lopez,Davis,Smith

That team may not be a playoff team but definitely wouldn't be picking in the top 3 much less the top 8. So we traded what would have been the number 12 pick and a 200lb center.

Noel has been too maligned. Super athlete that's sure to be Tyson Chandler at absolute worst IMO.

Jrue is good, though. Just not sure this will take us to competing for titles.

But a 216 pound center who can't score, on a team that desperately needs scoring, would take this team to compete for titles?

step 1 of being a "smart GM": learn the names of the players you're discussing.

Not in two years. But in 4-5, yeah.

Pels are terrible defensively too. Noel shores that up immediately.

Even if he is Tyson Chandler, Chandler is just a piece of the puzzle, not a guy you build around or a franchise player.

Neither is Jrue Holliday

And having Jrue and punting your 1st next year takes you outta the possibility of getting one of those for the next 1-3 years.

Wasn't perimeter defense a huge problem? Holiday is a huge upgrade defensively over Vasquez.

Tyson took like 5 years to finally be Tyson and he wasn't coming in injured.

I guess learning names can be hard when you can barely read.

Way to go the ad lib route with the shite that's not true when you have nothing better to come back with. But what do you have going for you ole BilJ?? Except a shite ton of dumb arse posts that you keep adding on to.

He will help there for sure. And he makes us better, obviously.

I just think it takes them up to being solid/ competitive but not steps toward contending.

I didn't say he was. The difference is the Pelicans already have a better version of Noel in Davis, while Holiday is a better version of Vasquez. Does that make sense to you?

But this doesn't make sense. Holiday puts them closer to contending than a skinny rookie who can't score and has a bad knee.
